Hey guys! New member here. I've been lurking for a few weeks and I wanted to introduce myself as a collector who's about to begin. I've been a diehard Coldplay fan for a few years and I own all 7 of the main albums, but nothing else yet.

 

I've been collecting comic books for many years and I'm excited to now expand that passion into acquiring every Coldplay release ever. My favourite eras have been Mylo Xyloto and Viva La Vida for awhile, but I've really getting into AROBTTH lately and Parachutes is just plain classic. All of that said, I think I'm going to start with some CD singles, then try some vinyl. I hope to keep you guys updated throughout the process. :)

So I've been collecting vinyl for a while now across multiple artists, but I realised that my Coldplay collection is still a little bit weak. I was wondering if anyone knew which singles had been released on vinyl so I can start hunting them down?

 

I have the singles collection coming to me for Christmas and I already own ETIAW, Midnight (RSD Release), Up with the Birds (RSD Release) and Hurts like Heaven (RSD Release)-- but I'm sure there must be more?

 

Also was wondering what people's thoughts were about the promo CD's? How much would you pay for them?

The single collection is cool!...its still on my wish list. Have you got Hurts Like Heaven the picture disc release? Its very pretty! Another good one (but maybe hard to find) is Violet Hill/A Spell a Rebel Yell.

No Im not :/ I must confess I´ve only just begun buying comics, because well we dont have them where I live. I´ve been in the USA a couple of months now and I spent a small fortune on my first batch of comics of all sorts, Marvel and DC and DWI hehe Im loving it! :)

 

I dont collect per se, but I love reading comics :) are you a collector? Whats your favourite/s?

I'd love to provide specific info on them when they arrive, but they are some iterations of:

 

1. Coldplay Acoustic
   
2. Yellow
   
3. Don't Panic
   
4. Lost!
   
5. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall
   
6. Fix You
   
7. Shiver
   

I'll leave the details on which editions they are until they arrive when I can post pics. Nothing special - they were the cheapest available from a specific seller on Discogs :D

Oh your collection looks great! I like the vintage look as well. I live in Denmark. We occasionally get local Spiderman comics and we have Donald Duck, but other than that nothing. Imagine my face when I stepped into a proper comic book store here in the USA! Wow one of the best days of my life *lol*

 

Rigt now Im reading : Star Wars, Darth Vader, Amazing Spider-Man, Superman: Alien, Superman 52, Lois & Clark, Avengers. I mean to get the X-Files season 10 but have not had time to make a proper list of old comics to buy yet. I also read the respective annuals which were fun :) I wanted to get Thor, but its a woman so Im skipping it *lol* What series do you follow?

Thanks, my friend! Which version of Shiver do you have? I'd love to see a picture (forgive me if you had posted it earlier).

 

My aforementioned order hasn't arrived yet but I did buy a copy of Jon Hopkins' Insides as a way to tide me over. I consider it tangential to the Coldplay collection, what with "Light Through the Veins" being such a fun inclusion on VLVODAHF.

I can do a photo later, sure !

 

By the way, I checked out the Acoustic one and turns out I have it too (as a promo version). I just call it by a different name - I call it the Sparks EP cause Sparks is the first track :)

The re-release looks completely different from this one. The one online looks exactly like the one I have. So I don't think it's fake (unless mine is fake too, which would be bad... )

Great job on taking time to organize your collection and take pictures of it. I find such task very challenging. I have only gotten as far as taking images of my AROBTH Collection.

With as much as I already have, it's nice to know that there are still a lot to find out there. I know that we will never find everything... Which means the hunt will live forever. :)

I see that you have a lot of what seems to be Australian & French promos. Amazing Collection...!

Thanks! Tho I've been collecting since Parachues' release, so it's been easy to add along the way. Have about (4) large secure cases hidden in the closet, all chock full of CP. :-) Think my comprehensive spreadsheet is still somewhere in this thread. I hope to eventually take decent individual pics to add to it, and have a much better resource to offer.

With less time on my hands these days, I'm more of an occasional lurker here, than the active poster I used to be. So so glad to see this thread is still alive and thriving!
