The British actor makes his SNL hosting debut the same weekend his The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters.

SNL is making it a British night, with Coldplay joining Garfield for its fifth appearance as musical guest. The band last appeared on a 2011 episode hosted by Garfield's girlfriend and Spider-Man costar Emma Stone.

 

SNL airs Saturdays on NBC at 11:30 p.m.

I cannot wait! I think we can count on Magic for sure, and I'm not sure about the other. I would hope ASFOS. I also REALLY hope that we can see another skit involving Chris and/or the band! He was so great in his skit last time, and I love how the band got involved in a snipet as well. I about fell off of the couch last night when they announced it during the show.

I believe SNL has wisely stayed away from the conscious uncoupling because they know Chris is a great musical guest, and they don't want to offend him and risk losing that. I also think they will play Magic and Midnight and they may appear in a sketch.

When Arcade Fire appeared on SNL, just before the launch of their album, they had a TV special that aired right after.

We know Coldplay filmed the LA shows for an NBC TV special...
