the same thing happened with a sky full of stars, I'm sure we'll get a description of the song as we move forward toward the festival. there were a couple of fans on twitter who met the band during the music video. hopefully one of them gives us something.

But if they haven't yet, not sure why they would do so closer to the fest.. Wouldn't they start forgetting what they heard by then? Haha

This song is an enigma... all we have heard is that someone compared it to Viva La Vida (as well as ETIAW if I recall correctly?).

To build up the anticipation for the new song of course. [emoji23] If they recorded the band on cell phones, which i'm sure some did, they won't forget what they heard. Haha. They have the upmost respect for the band if they don't say anything. Not like here in the U.S.A. We can't keep secrets. [emoji23]

That's what i heard too. I think the song's going to rely heavily on drums.

I think this is the case. The band asked them not to record anything or talk about the song, and they are keeping their word. Respect.

They coudlve just got everyone to sign an NDA?!?

Maybe. I heard it was a really strict video shoot. It didn't look like it from all the pictures though. [emoji23] i remember when they shot live 2014, no cell phones were allowed in the soundstage but everyone was describing the songs the next day. [emoji23]

I still feel like it would make sense to hear it before the festival so that the fans there for coldplay would be familiar, but who knows anymore. They do what they want

Yep it was ETIAW he compared it too. That's the best description I've heard so far myself anyways.

Can someone point directly to that description?

i don't know where this came from. haven't seen a link to the original supposed post.

anyway, about the song release, since monday is slowly passing by and now new music is released on fridays, i think if we don't get the new song today, we'll have to wait till friday to hear it. gives 3 days to build up the hype too. let's see if coldplay will tweet something tomorrow.

My personal guess is that on the brink of releasing a new album(even though no date has been announced) there is no way they play the Iheartradio festival without playing one new song, which should be their lead single for AHFOD. One would think anyways. If this is the case, I think Friday is the day we should look forward to, since that is when new music is released now. They could release a video or song download before or right after their performance. They will be getting quite a significant amount of exposure while they are at the festival, so in my opinion it makes sense to release something new around this time. If I was their manager, I would think this would be a great opportunity to at least release a single. That's my take on it anyways.

Also, an observation I had. Some suggest that this album will be an album that is infused with previous albums. I can see that happening. Just by looking at the pictures that have been posted and their clothes, Chris has the Viva style black jacket, the "love" button of Ghost Stories, The MX hairstyle, badges on his jacket, the all black shirt, jacket, pants, of X&Y. I still can't see anything from AROBTTH OR Parachutes era, in his clothing anyways. Maybe its nothing and all just a coincidence.

Exactly! Where are the descriptions this time!?!

I am beginning to think that they filmed the video without back playing the song... It is very strange that there has not been a sole comment about the song, even a general comment...

People on Twitter that participated in the MV said that the song is upbeat, but it is similar to Viva La Vida. Something like Viva La Vida and ETIAW.

Here is the original post that I mentioned earlier. If those people on Twitter really were describing the song, then it was played when the MV was filmed...

Thanks for those nice words. I have been really caught up with work to post anything (or write music blogs) but I do follow the forum once in a while, especially nearing album release. I wish I could have been more involved here.

As for everyone else, I'm really sorry but I can't give out any details on a forum.

Did I like it? Yes. Did I love it? May be. Should we be excited? Yes!

Saket heard it too! While I don't know why he won't give us any information (it's not like he's actually leaking the song, coldplay won't track him down for that), I'm sure he's not lying about hearing it. They definitely must have played it when filming the MV.

The thing with these kind of vague claims is that anyone can make them up. While they may be accurate, would you believe me if I said that it sounded like a cross between True Love and POC? I don't believe any claims like this until we have more evidence.

Okay, If I can shortly interject on this and give my opinion (without dragging it all up again). The whole reason I sought to seek out this messageboard in the first place was because as a massive fan of Coldplay's older work, I felt slightly disenfranchised after GS. I wanted to share my opinion with other Coldplay fans and wanted to express my apprehension in waiting for LP7 because I had a similar feeling before GS came out, so maybe it's that feeling that your picking up as people judging the album before it is released? It's natural for a fandom to compare artistic work to previous artistic work, maybe that's not fair. Maybe we should judge everything as a stand alone creation, but that will never happen. The fact is when LP7 is released, music critics are going to compare it to AROBTTH. That's life.

Also, on the "high quality post" thing. Sometimes I don't feel like writing a sociological thesis on the state of modern music and capitalism. I just want to relax and share my opinion with other Coldplay fans.

Well said

Also, you don't have to write a sociological thesis. It's okay to relax and share you're opinion. But if the quality of posts is at least a little bit decent it'll make reading them a whole lot easier than if you make spelling errors and mistakes all everywhere and don't at least have a little explanation and organization in your thoughts. Just a little bit. You don't have to overdo it. All I'm saying is if you have a bit of decent quality in your posts, everything's good. It's not like an essay where you have to get everything right and have tons and tons of info. Just a little bit of effort in posts is all I was saying because it'll make it easier for you and many other fans to read. Now you're doing fine with that as it is so you don't need to worry too much. :P

To be honest I believe most (not all) posts at Coldplaying are fairly OK, there are worse forums out there....

Good point, maybe that's what happened.. It's too strange that no one has described it in written form..

You know what I completely agree with you. The posts here at Coldplaying so far have been right on point and very easy to understand. So I really don't think it's the biggest problem as of right now.

The thing is, those two songs you mentioned are completely different deals so of course I'd never believe you. But with the other post there's some validity in it since it'd make sense if there was a song sounding in between two songs like VLV and ETIAW. Now I do agree with you in the sense that they could be making something up. It's easy to just say something and people believe it to be true because they trust you. So those claims aren't entirely trustable either. However, it does make more sense for a song to be a cross between VLV and ETIAW but not True Love and PoC. There's a higher probability that the former claim is true than the latter one. But your point still remains valid because again as I said before it's extremely easy to lie on the Internet because no one can see your face while you're talking anyway, and they can't hear your voice. Those two things are big giveaways when someone is lieing, and in text unless the other person purposefully puts it there to make it seem funny or sarcastic or whatever you'll never tell the difference, except if it just looks silly.

Please don't hate me for this because I want to give you a warm welcome and good inpression of the site, but I'm kinda sick of seeing these giant, multi-quote responses. :)
