I did read that, and don't get me wrong I really appreciate what you all did, but still - what was the point in deciding what the best question is if it the one and only question that most people voted for is simply left out then ? It was not even crossed out by Debs, so it would have been allowed to ask !

Let's say I'm a little sad about it.

We forwarded the winning question to Phil and he rejected them so he set us up with Debs and she gave us this opportunity to interview the band!

Plain and simple, the questions were vetted. through multiple cycles. all the winning questions as well as the higher voted questions were considered. the last sheet that thalia attached with some crossed out was the last minute vetting. but does not show all the questions we tried to get answered from the very beginning. and the question you asked about was not answered and removed months ago. hope that helps.

but how awesome is it that we could get a face to face interview as a fan community?! phil and debs are just fantastic!

We forward the winning question and it was rejected multiple times.. I'm sorry to the winner but we tried:/ We also send in ALL the questions that were asked just in hope to get ANY answered. A lot of them were rejected. As it was mentioned in the interview, we had a lot of questions.

I would have loved a question regarding the radical change in sound of the band, but with the insane vetting I can see how such a question wouldn't get through.

Why was the question about Chris and Global Citizen rejected? and the flower of life question? Weird.

Because that was a question more about Chris and Chris was being interviewed by the tv show at the time.

Thanks for your answers ! So it was the band who apparently didn't want to answer this question. Weird...I can't really understand it. They want to be close to their fans but then they hardly like to answer any questions that go beyond standard ones (in fact, some of the interview questions are somewhat personal and I'm really thankful for you asking them. Great job!)

Weird in general that so many rounds of vetoing precede such an interview. Especially when they were not even provocative or something. I would have thought that the guys see themselves still as three ordinary human beings, not rock gods. I have no doubt they are still very nice guys, but I can't help feeling a little bit alienated by a behaviour like that. But I digress....

Thanks for the interview, nonetheless !

First of all please forgive me if what I think I have to tell you seems rude.

I understand what you are saying. But, Thalia had such an amazing journey. I can imagine she had a lot of emotions in just one day. I guess she went there with a huge responsibility at the same time she was there as a lucky fan. She had a lot of questions and a few time. I'm impressed she managed to calm down after she got the opportunity to interview her favorite band. I think the question you are asking is unnecessary. It won't have the right answer anyways. And there's no need to complain about something that can't be changed. Just be happy someone from coldplaying got to interview the band. Be happy Coldplay let a fan interview them without the control of a radio or TV show.

No it's OK, I get your point and I never meant to diminish the accomplishment of the forum or, in any way, Thalia ! It was just a question that didn't get out of my mind. I still think it was necessary to mention it though, and now it has been largely cleared up in the preceding posts.

So it was the band who apparently didn't want to answer this question

the chances are, this was not the case. the band were not personally involved with negotiations. i'm 99.99% sure this was management intervention. you can hear will being curious about the vetted questions at one point. don't think they had any idea this was going on.

from the management's point of view, this is understandable. they are taking a risk giving this interview to a fan community. but more importantly, let's be thankful for how accommodating they were giving this interview to us!

Also, we can clearly hear that with any in-depth or original question, they were really surprised and it wasn't always easy to come up with an answer, even to a question that to us, as fans, sounds simple or just so interesting we NEED an answer to it ;)

I'm really happy you are all enjoying this interview so much! This has been in the works for several months and we worked really hard on this! Thalia did a brilliant job representing us (and all of you, actually!) and we feel very grateful for the band, Phil and Debs. Merry Christmas guys!

My favorite part was when Will overrode Debs veto and asked to listen to the question! We finally got an interview where they do not repeat the same answers over and over. Regretfully Guy was not brave enough to tell that he hates Talk on X&Y. But the reason that Will gave for such approach was very good!

And shame on you Debra Wild for vetting questions, haha!

Hey, we were lucky enough to even see the band!
