Coldplay Live

i tried bringing this up in the official board but not many people replied... did anyone on here go to the super-exclusive show at the Metro in Chicago. This venue is so great, it's a really tiny place and the show was a buzz-gig for the x&y pre-realese tour, so anyone else go!

Richard Ashcroft sucks. With the Verve he was good. Without them he has gone nowhere and put out 3 solo albums that blow. Many people think he's so awesome and great but he is a has been. He WAS great. I thought the verve were great and I bought his first solo album. But listening to all his solo albums before last nights concert I came to the realization they suck. Urban Hymns was awesome so I was blinded into thinking he was great. But I was wrong. The Verve were great. Even though he wrote there songs, the whole band had input about where to take the song. Summing all this up: Richard Ashcroft SUCKS.

I sat in the 4th row at Wachovia in Philadelphia for the last US show. It was incredible . I also met a beautiful, lovely women and her daughter that where next to us. We got up before the show started to get some waters and she said they had left their $ in the car. As we where getting up my friend of 30 years said he had areally wierd feeling that she was my soulmate! Well when we came back I had bought two waters for them also. Hey all, This is my first post here so hope it works. Never really had anything worth posting. If you've been to see the Twisted Logic tour you know what happens at the end of In My Place. I just thank the arbitrary combination of 0's and 1's that blessed us with these seats at the show in Milwaukee last weekend. I love the songs they played before the start of the concert. If anyone can recognize and tell me the names of the songs that are played before Coldplay came on to start the concert that would be excellent. I believe one of the songs in the line up was rap. An no, not the opener, whether its Richard, Fiona, etc. . .

I posted this on the colpdplay.com message board, but figured I'd post it here too. Oh my god, last night was awesome. I got to the amp at 4pm, and there were people waiting there already. Apparently some people had been there since 9AM. They opened up the parking lot early because there was a gun show that day. I got premier parking, which was a waste, because I had to park on the other side of the amp, and then walk all the way around to the regular parking lot because thats where you had to wait for the doors to open. I have been reading some of the concert reviews. Some of them seem to be giving Fiona more positive write up eventhough Coldplay's reviews aren't bad. What's the deal?

I've been listening to this concert for a while, and I think it's safe to say that it;s one of their best. Great setlist, they played a lot of great songs that they don't normally play, and they did everything pretty much perfectly.

Am I the only person who doesn't understand this? I mean I know a lot of people will say stuff like "because the song sucks .." etc... but realistically its a single, and typically they've always played their singles, especially during the tour of the album from which the single is released. I find it wierd that they have stayed away from playing it this whole tour (aside from the occasional encore set) and that they haven't promoted it like they did for their other 3. When Speed of Sound, Fix You and Talk came out, we constantly saw them playing the songs on TV and at award shows etc... Their two most recent award shows have had them play Square One and Talk. Hey, I was on coldplay.com's message board trying to find something out and I was told I might have better luck here. I happen to be a huge fan of the Irish rock band the Cranberries and I heard on their forums that Coldplay did a cover of their hit single Linger in Ireland awhile back. Now I happen to be in love with Chris Martin's voice and I was wondering if that 1. Is true or just a rumor that they covered it and 2. The American tour is over tonight. How do you guys feel? I for one am sad, but I'm looking forward to a new cd. Hopefully they are not too burned out and go right into the studio and give us a new cd in 2007/8

no-one probably knows that Perth is the arse-end of the world when it comes to getting decent musicians here.... it`s an expensive place to travel to with not a huge population, so most promoters don`t see it as worth their while... they`ll stick to Sydney and Melbourne. So thank-you very much to Coldplay, their managers, promoters, etc etc.... whoever said they`d add Perth to the list. It`s very much appreciated. We can`t thank you enough. It`s going to be one of those nights you never forget.... that you tell your children about. Hopefully :)

So. I know this is an extremely old question, but I've been thinking about it lately and it's been bugging the hell out of me. Anyway.... I know that the music the band uses to take the stage during the X&Y tour (or at least that they used at Coachella which is the only show I have actually heard) is Brian Eno's "An Ending (Ascent)." Does anyone know what the music is that they used on the Rush of Blood tour? I think it's also a Brian Eno track, but I'm not sure which.

Did anyone go to the Orlando show this past Saturday? I thought it was so amazing! This was my first Coldplay show ever and it was so incredible and so much fun. What did everyone else think?
