Coldplay have been voted the best headline festival act of 2011 by 6Music listeners. This summer saw the festival season come under increased scrutiny. High profile figures such as Michael Eavis cast doubt over whether the summer season could continue in its present format, with the calendar reaching saturation point. Yet for fans, the choice has never been better. Cheap flights are placing more and more European festivals within touching distance, while the British season is packed with a varied array of live music events. Casting their eye over the line ups for some of the country's biggest acts, 6Music decided to hold a poll to find the most popular headline a…

I just wanna share the photo of my recently finished project , a replication, somehow, of Guy Berryman's viva la vida uniform xD http://milfeulle30.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=137260262 :D Although it was patterned with Guy's uniform, it was really almost made up of my imagination. I tried searching for a picture of the whole uniform alone and all the pictures I saw was Guy wearing it and unfortunately, he's always pictured in side view. But anyway, I loved the outcome :) I also did a fan art of Guy, yeah I'm an addicted fan xD, =D

OK, I'm seeing surprising amounts of hate from the Coldplay fanbase towards Brian Eno, thought I'd address it. I'm not a Eno worshipper or anything, but I think it's stupid to blame your dislike for Paradise on him. He's arguably one of the best ever producers - he's worked on some of the greatest albums of all time (The Joshua Tree, Remain in Light) and he's a pretty great solo musician as well (Another Green World, Here Come the Warm Jets). Besides, the production is the best thing about Paradise. The lyrics and chorus melody are where the song goes wrong, and it's extremely unlikely that he had anything to do with either. To sum up: LEAVE BRIAN ALONE!!! …

Ok firstly I love the Coldplay we have now and I love the Coldplay of the past. Several people have given their opinions of how Coldplay are writing songs which are for the charts and are not thinking about quality. I like Paradise, I thinks it good. Now I believe the reason CP had to go in the direction is because they are living their dream. They want to recreate the moments of Wembley and Headline Glastonbury and other major festivals. This is ANY musicians dream. Coldplay cannot stand still they need to appeal to the masses to make these dreams reality. Its not a money making scheme, Imagine playing 80,000 people in a stadium, it must be incredible. If Coldp…

On September 13, 2001, a little over 2 days after the terrorist attacks that stopped and changed our world forever, Chris Martin sat down and wrote a song. Almost 10 Years later, Politik still goes on as one of Coldplay's most powerful and influental songs. Politik was written about the state of the world. The terror, the media, the policies, the conflicts, the struggle, downfall, corruption, commendments and the condemned and everything else in between. Almost 10 years on, sadly, our world is still the same. Politik is a statement about our world, and it is still a valid statement today. Join me in celebrating the 10th anniversary of a great song. First ev…

Not being mean to the lovely Guy Berryman, but what's the most he does on a Coldplay song? From what I can see it's all very simple... He must be capable of more surely? Don't get me wrong, he carries Clocks. I just wondered whether he's ever had a bigger contribution that I've missed somewhere.

Ok. I wasn't going to weigh in on this mainstream vs. non-mainstream bulls&^t, but I just can't resist. It's one thing if you don't like the new music, saying so doesn't make you a "hater" (as long as it's new music you've actually heard.) However, IMHO there are a couple things about this "coldplay going mainstream" argument that make absolutely no sense to me. If someone on the other side can answer some of these questions, I'd be genuinely interested in their perspective. Here goes: 1. First and foremost how on earth can "old coldplay" not be considered "mainstream" or "made for radio" I'll grant you that perhaps parachutes wasn't a pop record by …

There were problems with the last poll I made and I couldn't edit it. So here's a new poll. Now you can vote for more than one event. In case you haven't heard, there is a Coldplaying festival coming up soon and we need some help organizing the events. Vote in the poll for the events you will attend, or most likely will attend. If there isn't at least 5 people attending an event, it will not be in the festival All the events have enough people to start them, so I need people to be in charge of each event. Post below if you want to be in charge of an event. After we decide who is in charge of each event, you guys can post the rules for the contests and we …

Hello. While searching for some information on a certain piece of musical equipment I discovered a video with Coldplay's MIDI and Pro Tools technician. Coincidentally, earlier today I read a Roadie #42 blog in which he stated both of the aforementioned tasks belong to him. His name is Miller and you can find the video here: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOQPKn7Vzv4]Coldplay - RME Fireface UFX, Fireface 800 & Babyface - Synthax UK - YouTube[/ame] Enjoy the discovery. Warmest regards, Phillip Reed
