This guy is my favourite actor, I dont think Ive ever heard anyone say Johnny Depp doing a weak performance. Robert de Niro kinda sucked in Meet the Parents, Tom Hanks didnt manage to spark up some of those awful movies he did to keep working, but Johnny always puts in a great role. He's so versatile, I cant think of another actor who has played a wider range of roles. He's played Italian mafioso, cuban druglord, whatever the hell Benny was, whatever the hell Edward Scissorhands was, English detective in victorian society, English detective in post-victorian society (They were two COMPLETELY different characters though), PIRATE, he just plays every role perfectly (I ha…

Most people probably haven't heard of this movie, but if you have a chance to see it, and you don't mind reading subtitles for two hours, it is VERY very good. It's about gang warfare in the streets of Rio de Janiero, and was filmed there using many amateur actors and actresses who actually grew up in the slums there. Anyway, it's sad and it's tragic, but it's also a reminder of how well off even the poorest Americans are compared to these people.

  8. http://www.greatestjournal.com/quiz.bml?Q=183 I got: Elle Driver (California Mountain Snake) You're Elle Driver! Sly and evil, you can manipulate people in order to get whatever you want. You're usually alone, but that's the way you like it. You hate having others nearby to order you around (unless it's Bill, of course... but even then you're still hesitant).

  17. This was inspired by the Men in Black thread which pointed out that the second one wasn't half as good as the first. Which most sequels aren't. So what are the ones that you think are not only as good as the first one, but maybe even better? Here are my choices: - The Empire Strikes Back - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - The Godfather II - Return of the King - Ghostbusters II - Terminator 2: Judgement Day (WAAAAYYYY better than the first one)

  22. I'm sure you've all heard by now about Nick Berg, the American civilian who was kidnapped and beheaded by suspected al-Qaeda members in Iraq. If not: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3708047.stm I guess it has a slight personal connection for me, since this guy was from the town where I was born, and he briefly attended the same university as me, although not at the same time. At any rate, it's one of the most gruesome and terrible things to come out of there yet, and I feel incredibly bad for his family, who had to find out that there was a video of their son's brutal murder from a reporter who came to their house, and now they have to see it on every news ch…
