Coldplaying for Fair Play

  1. Started by fakfak,

I have a few questions regarding Jon's Twisted Logic Tour Rig. If anyone has any info on these questions please post: -was his Jag fully retired from live use or just not used for yellow? Did he use it on the (few) concerts where Shiver was played. -Did he add a Fender Blues Jr to his amp setup as some sources claim?

  2. The "ethical" brand Fairtrade, backed by A-list celebrities and £2million of taxpayers' cash, leaves Third World farmers worse off, according to a damning new report. Huge publicity, including a Government-sponsored education campaign in schools, has attempted to persuade the public to pay more for goods such as coffee, chocolate and bananas to ensure a better deal for producers in impoverished nations. And stars such as Coldplay singer Chris Martin have been queuing up to endorse its products. But an investigation by the Adam Smith Institute, the highly respected Right-wing think-tank, claims that Fairtrade's efforts to help African and Central American farme…

  3. Friends of Zali A warm thank you to all who have donated to the $1.36 Campaign! It doesn't matter if you've donated once or 10 times; if you've donated $1.36 or $100 - the fact is that we appreciate your thoughtful contributions and want to acknowledge your kindness. In just a little over a year and a half, we've raised an amazing sum of more than $1200.00 USD. This money has gone to aid Zali Djiré and his friends. Because of your donations, Zali and his community in Gouaran (a small town in southeast Mali) have received early childhood development, health care and primary education. We hope you will keep up this giving spirit by continuing to give to the $1.36 Campai…

  4. Here's a great way for everyone on How We See The World to help Oxfam and promote our great CD at the same time. OxJam is a huge UK-wide musical event taking place in October. I strongly encourage our UK-based artists to get involved. I have now secured Saturday, Oct. 27th t the Lord Eldon In in Knutsford, Cheshire for the release party. I hope even one or two of our musicians can make it there. Although London is more central, it's also more cometitive, and it was nearly impossible to find a venue there. Here's the link to all the info about Oxjam. http://www.oxfam.org.uk/what_you_can_do/oxjam07/?searchterm=oxjam I'll be contacting individual artists over th…

Since 2002 Coldplay have been global ambassadors for the Make Trade Fair campaign and one of Oxfam's biggest supporters. They have helped Oxfam to campaign at their concerts all over the world and continued to support the campaign as as they rose to worldwide fame. Chris Martin and other members of the band have traveled to Mexico, Ghana, and Haiti to meet farmers and see how unfair trade rules affect those in developing countries. The band also traveled to Cancun, Mexico to lobby world leaders at the 2003 World Trade Organization Summit. Since 2002 Coldplay have been global ambassadors for the Make Trade Fair campaign and one of Oxfam's biggest supporters. An o…

For those not familiar with the ongoing WikiColdplay project, a good way for you to get familiar with it (it's the future of the site!) is to visit the How You See The World wiki page at: http://wiki.coldplaying.com/index.php/How_We_See_The_World There you can add links, content, history as it unfolds, images, project team etc etc. I've added the press release so far, please give as much time as you can to keeping it up-to-date and tidy! :)

  23. As many on the board know, some of us have compiled a CD of music by members of the forum to raise money for the Coldplaying Charity Club. The CD should be available for sale in mid-March or early April. I'm looking for volunteers who are going to the Mexico City shows, who would be willing to print and hand out fliers announcing the CD's upcoming release. Here are 6 Flyers, which you can print either in colour or black & white (In the case of the FLag, I recommend colour only).(Thanks so much to Victaniac for the lovely designs!:D ) Feel free to hand out as many or as few as you like! This could be the last cp show for a while, and it's a great opportunity…

It's finally time! I've wanted to make this CD as 'open-source' as possible, and the artwork is no excption! If you want to submit artwork, now's the time. You can do as much or as little as you like, one part or the whole package. Due to budgetary constraints, we don't need any more than a single fold, double-sided insert (4.75x9.5 inches). If you also want to do a tray card (the back insert) and/or a label, feel free. Title: How We See The World The front cover needs to mention the CCC in some way...like a bi-line that says 'music for the Coldplaying Charity Club' or 'An Album for the Coldplaying Charity Club', something like that. Put it anywhere on the …
