  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

I assume if they release something, it be audio releated for Youtube and a music video for the first single maybe in Feb or March

I'll come to the defense of surprise albums. I think one advantage is that there is zero expectation of the sound going in and that can change the overall listening experience. Especially if a record is meant to be consumed as a story or narrative, listening to it all at once is important.

For example, by the time MX dropped, we had already heard ETIAW, MM, Paradise, and HLH, almost half the album. Hearing the differences between those live tracks and the album versions was really cool, but made it hard to understand the weird "concept" of the album.

In the last two eras, the teaser tracks also were really misleading. Midnight had me thinking they'd release a super experimental ambient album -- nope! AOAL had me thinking we'd get a dance/disco album -- nope! In these examples it made me overall a bit underwhelmed.

I keep listening to Moving to Mars, Prospekt's March, and All I Can Think About is You over and over. I think that's what sort of LP8 I want. :grinning:

Clips of Chris performing for that event was...not good....I guess its tough being just him without the rest of the band. Well then pick better songs that fit, you have such a big catalog of songs to choose from, Solo, acoustic Viva la Vida and A Sky Full of Stars isn't it, chief

Is it just me or does this give you Life in Technicolor vibes.... It reminds me of the music video for LITii

It is a funny performance I have to say.

Kinda does, yeah! Although my first thought was the Paralympic performance of Strawberry Swing

By the way, this performance was for a gorillas charity event in Hollywood yesterday!

Yeah, I was thinking about that too! Especially when you look at the way Chris is sitting next to the musicians!

Exactly, that and the sitar. Dont see a lot of sitar usually

Chris, making his own songs bad, but others better! Only half joking

Happy to be back on Coldplaying for this new era about to begin! ❤

I don't know if it's already been shared on the forums, but BBC's documentary with Jodie Whittaker (she covered Yellow), Jonny & Will is airing on 30th October on BBC =D

A nice snippet has been shared by CPing on Twitter:

Just had Til Kingdom Come pop up on Spotify right after I found out that an old friend had died of a heroin overdose. Powerful moment right there... seems like Coldplay always pops up to console me when stuff like this happens in my life.

I'm so sorry for your loss :(

Music sure is magical sometimes isnt it? Its amazing what it can do and seems to find you at just the right times. Im sure everyone here has had a story like this, myself included, where the perfect track would come on random at the best time. Sorry for your loss.

My goodness, nearly 700 users online at the same time. Again, mostly lurkers though. I dont think ive seen this many since the site changed.

So, neither a new single by Adele nor a Coldplay single last friday.

What do we think, probably this week?

And who's staying up for tonight's Tidal X (Rock The Vote) show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn? I bet Coldplay are a surprise performer. Exactly one month before the album release date....

Oh shit, thats tonight...we havent prepared...anyone have a TIDAL account? Seems like a stream is available to Tidal subscribers.

8pm, I assume EST so thats just under 10 hours from now.

k many people aren't prepared due to all the teaser-related things

I have a TIDAL account but they try to make me pay for it when I want to stream music and watch any videos. Someone has to record it in case they are showing up!
