I'm just now back online after my computer system crashed. A Dell technical aid in the Phillipines deleted some files from the registry, using Dell's new online screen sharing. The computer would not boot after that. I finally got my system back through my own efforts. It was just fortunate that the system had created a restore point before she messed it up. Dell has about the worst technical support. The last person I talked to was going to have me re-install the whole system and told me to back up all of my files, which took 24 hours to do. They had also told me to get a new monitor because it was suddenly incompatible (after using it for 3 years!) As it turned out, the drivers on Dell's website were not up to date. I was able to update them from Nvidia's website.

 

So, Tracey, I finally got to read you account!!! Getting invited to the after-party must have made the whole trip worthwhile, besides the concert itself! I think my heart would have given out if I were to be as close as you were to Chris and Gwenyth! I'm sure you will never forget your Coldplay experience, congratulations again! and thanks for sharing your wonderful odyssey with us.

 

Edit: the love between Gwenyth and Chris is like a living fairy tale and inspires me to believe that true love can be realized in this world if two people operate from the heart. Seeing them together as you describe might have been one of the most inspirational sights ever seen, at least it would have been for me!

Reggie, I'm glad you got your dell problems sorted out. We have 4 dells in the house (and my iMac) and have been pretty happy with them. I don't know how computer savvy you are, but one of the things that has really helped keep our pcs running in good shape for years is a program I downloaded years ago called C-Cleaner (short for crap cleaner). You can google it and download it from filehippo. It just helps maintain the computer and gets rid of a lot of junk that can mess things up and clears out the useless registry files. I use it either when I remember, or when the kids start complaing that the computers are running too slowly. I always run it before I do a Microsoft maintenance and before I defrag the hard drive. It's a free program, so maybe that will help.

 

Are you going to the Bridge Concert? I keep debating with myself - my husband isn't crazy about me going to yet another concert, and I myself am not sure if I really want to see Chris without the boys - it would just be too weird for me, thinking that something is missing. As much as I love Chris, they are kind of a package deal for me...I could have bought great $150 seats, but...I didn't. I am going to see Creed next Wednesday - courtesy of my daughter's ex-boyfriend who works at Verizon Amphitheater and can get me $6 house tickets - where I last saw my beloved Coldplay and had that amazing experience.

 

And please, please, have a drink or two for me, light a candle, chant or whatever it is you do for me tomorrow night, because in less than 24 hours, I will be at the Honda Center with my amazing, beautiful, wonderful 10 year old daughter and 12,000 other 9-12 year old girls and their parents to see Miley Cyrus- I already have my earplugs in my purse, not necessarily for Miley, but for all those screaming little girls...

 

I started watching the South Bank show on Coldplay that was on Sunday night. I got it downloaded on my ipod. So far, I am absolutely loving it - definitely one of the best documentaries I've seen of the boys. It just makes me miss them more, lol, and the magic that was this past year...so if you can download it, you should! There are a few different link formats on the main board page - can't tell you exactly what page, but towards the end or it may be in the multimedia section, but totally worth the watch...

 

And on that note, I'm going to finish watching it, as soon as my dinner dishes are cleaned up! Good night all my Tampa board buddies :kiss:

Thanks so much everyone, I only took 2 pics of Jonny, because everyone else were, when Kelly (Chris's bodyguard) asked me nicely to put my camera away, I did so, and never took it out again, pretty weird sitting on a couch with Will sitting at the couch next to us (sorry Dianne):kiss: I don't feel in the wrong with anything I did on our trip, pics of the House, Bakery, and so on, some just feel the need to mess with others happiness, cause I am certainly not the only one this has happened to.;)

Thanks, we had a wonderful time in London, such a beautiful and quite different place than America, and the weather was warm, I could have worn shorts for the most part.:) All of my family were born there and still have lot's of relatives living there, I went about 30 years ago when I was 17, and I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now that I am older.:)

I stayed in Wembley Plaza right there! And the whole CP tour stayed there too! Saw many of the guys in the lounge and outside where we had to smoke! I talked to Jackie about how we came from Orlando and too bad Chris got sick... I was sick a few weeks ago with horrible virus and hope he didn't have the same thing. I am pretty good with networking and talking bullshit stuff... but if I didn't have the tiredness jet lag thing, I probably could have talked her into something like getting us into afterparty since Tampa was cancelled and made her feel sorry for us. I am good at talking the bullshit! Darn it! They were right behind us in the Arena that night! Darn, darn, darn! Well, it sounds like you had a great time and I am so so jealous! What hotel did you stay? Cause if you were in Plaza, you would have been in the presence of all the roadies, security and tour people!!! I walked down the side street on Saturday morning with one of the guys shooting the DVD and he talked about how they would take footage from both nights. I had my Wembley Coldplaying bag and shirt with a banner rolled up and he asked me where I was working... and I started talking bullshit talk, well not really, I said I was working with the website and doing Twitter thing. He asked me if I was going inside, cause we were already up to the security entrance and I said "No, I have to go to the beginning of the line up for Twitter stuff. Heheh! I could have got inside with him, but then what would I do? I have to agree, it was an absolutely awesome experience and one not to be forgotten. Glad you attended that party! But I am still very jealous! Maybe we can meetup one day since I live in Orlando. I will be in Tampa for the U2 show and staying overnight by the stadium.... maybe then? It would be great to talk and share out great memories! I don't have Facebook... maybe you could PM me with your pics!

You should have talked your bullshit, to come to the after party, it was directly across from your hotel. We went all over London Friday and most of Sat. we crammed alot of stuff in. I had my daughter put my pics on facebook, I will try and get her to send them to you, NO pics except 2 of Jonny from the after party, and the pics from the concert were mostly from the big screens, but were still cool looking. I am so glad you had a good time, when did ya get back? Where did you get to stand or sit at the concert?

I got back Monday late afternoon. And I was in front of lineup so went right to front of stage... that lasted about 15 min... and I decided to get seat and found row of yellow shirts down front section so I sat with Ian, Sue and Cookie for Friday show... they were alot of fun! Then Sat, I was in front lineup again, so got first row seat in lower section again! Chris and boys ran right in front of us to C stage. He gave us a wave and thumbs up at our US Loves Coldplay banner! It was a great view for everything!

Personally, I think HP support is way much better than Dell's. Next time, when you are not getting the answer you are looking for from the India or the Philippines call center, don't waste your time and demand to speak with someone in the US, Most likely the people in the US tech support will have more training and experience to solve your problems. I do that all the time with Citibank, Dell and all the companies that transfer calls overseas. (Not that I am against those countries , but their people do not get the same training).

Truth is, it is an open forum, and she and anyone else can post in here or in any other thread regardless if they haven't done so before. As far as I was concerned it was resolved. I found it very weird, people agreed. Some people didn't. I accepted that maybe it was a cultural difference and let it go.

 

The fact that I get called names for expressing an opinion is hysterical....especially when we're all adults here. I mean come on!

 

At least Mel (who was actually meant to go to this gig by the way) can see some sense.

 

The last thing I wanted was some pathetic feud, but since no-one seems to be capable of acting like a reasonable adult I don't really have much choice.

I answered a persons question in this thread about where she could go to see what the fuss was all about, never saying anything bad about you personally, knowing that nobody in this thread would go and "back me up" because these people have class. When you came in here, which I said to mel in her post, you and I and everyone know we ALL can go to any thread and post nothing is off limits, I never said threads were off limits either, This is NOT my thread, it was the Tampa folks that came to be excited and then be dissapointed, we became friends early on 10 months ago, other people came to celebrate the tours last stop, and people came to be sorry for the cancellation. I just found it funny you just happened to pop in this thread knowing I post in here and seeing if I say anything about you, which I never did, until your thread here and I called you a gnat. I agree completely with that. This website is for fans of Coldplay. "Fan" is short for "fanatical." I would say most people who visit this site are at least somewhat obsessive about their love for the band. That includes such behavior as going to see where they live and places they frequent when one has the chance as Tracey did in London. It would be wrong if she didn't! How many times will she be able to return and do that? Maybe never. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and even if it were not, I think it is only natural to be drawn to the places familiar to someone one loves. I know I would have walked by and haunted the area as much as I could without being mistaken for a paparazzi. I do understand how irritating it must be for celebrities to be constantly followed by them. But fans are different. The motivation is love, not greed.

 

Tracey, don't listen to anyone who criticizes you for acting on your heartfelt love of Chris Martin and Coldplay. I think it was even sweet of you to take pics of Jonny until you were asked not to. It is a moment you wanted to remember and nothing wrong with that. And pics of a car and house? What in the world could possibly be harmed by that?

 

I haven't read all the posts to find out what this is all about, but have scanned a couple to know that these attacks are not coming from a place of love, and at least for me, love is what Coldplay's music is really all about. I don't think true Coldplay fans, who feel as deeply moved as those I have gotten to know in this forum would ever criticize another for expressing one's love for Coldplay and their music. I'll stop there because I believe I only feel love for Coldplay and fellow fans. I would not want to offend anyone unnecessarily, except to remind them of the feeling that Coldplay brings. It is antithetical to hate. "Well, I don't want to battle from beginning to end, I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge; I don't want to follow death and all of his friends." I think if we remember how we felt hearing them in concert, it is hard to stay angry at anyone. I'm using Coldplay's music as a kind of aphrodisiac, protection, and reserve to strengthen and reinvigorate my spirits when I need a lift after something has upset my feelings. It's like having a little food or drink put aside for later when one is really hungry. :love:

Tracey, let me say first off that your entire trip experience was never in question. I think all coldplayers can agree what an awesome thing it was for Babelgum to honor their contest and bring you to London for a show. I'm sure it's an experience you'll always remember.

 

Now, what I am trying to figure out is how a difference of opinion about something has led to name calling - which is still being done in a less obvious way - as shown by the items in bold below.

I have not called you names, have not disparaged you. What I did do, along with others, was agree that taking pictures of Chris's personal residence seemed wrong. Several people, including you, disagreed. This was the sole root of the beef. It wasn't your trip, or your overall experience in London.

 

It wasn't until a friend of mine was bad mouthed that I felt the need to come and back her up. I do not feel that coming to the aid of a friend is without class, on the contrary.

And this is the reason why I believe taking pictures of his personal residence is wrong. Newspapers and magazines at least blur out a license plate. I have already seen the pics of the Prius on Facebook in a public photo album that can be seen by anyone. The license plate number is clear and in its entirety.

 

For me, it comes down to the fact that they live there. Gwyenth is famous but also just a mother with young children. I can't imagine being in her place, wondering if the people outside taking pictures are innocent or have intent to do harm. I know you did not intend her any harm but put yourself in her shoes.

Coldplay over the PA was the best part of the night. Miley did a good show, 10 backup dancers, 5 or 6 musicians, lots of props, video screens, but the girl just can't sing. It was very cute though, to see the excitement of all the little girls who were there. It was 90% moms and daughters and just a handful of dads and boys. I'll be home until lunchtime to collect my Mother of the Year Award.
