Featured Replies

My favorites? ooh... this is a toughie... well today i'm feeling-

1) WHITE SHADOWS- will always be my top fave. my 1st coldplay song ever heard. the song that made me love Coldplay. If it weren't for this song, I wouldn't be here right now. It's AWESOME!!!

2) Square One- it's just cool all around, and cause i LOVE the drums in it.

3) The Scientist- it's a beautiful song, like the lyrics, and the music video is SWEET!!! ( the video is what made me realize how hot Chris Martin was)

4) Daylight(probably)- i LOVE the music and the beat. Cool song

1. The Goldrush (the chattering in the background, and the melody)

2. Strawberry Swing (just makes me happy and chilled out)

3. LIT (the intrumental version, the music, the end)

you can see from my signature what my favourate songs are and they all hav the same reason why i love them - they inspire me to be the best i can be...coldplay offer something so much more which is peace of mind and a sense of your the best that you can be...you feel like they are talking to you and they want u to no there story which comes from that song

mine changes like every few minutes.

-"lovers in japan", because it relaxes me so much.

-"green eyes", cause it's just so beautiful, and it makes me think chris is singing to me. :wacky:!

-"amsterdam", it's so beautiful and reminds me so much of myself.

It changes a bit but at the moment they are:

Fix You - because whole song is just perfect. I love the lyrics, and when the electric guitar comes in after 'i will try...to fix you' it sends shivers down my spine. cliche but true.

Warning Sign - because it's relaxing and i love the ending 'and i crawl...back into your open arms..'

Shiver love the guitar part

if i'm allowed 4, then trouble as well.

i really really wish they would play trouble, shiver or warning sign live.

1. Amsterdam-the lyrics, the slow start with the explosive end, and it is an amazing city....:)

2. Gravity-this song literally pulls at my heartstrings when I listen to it.

3. Polotik-again the lyrics. it is one that I love to sing in the car, it has so much heart.

4. 42-I love the funky sound to this one. It is another one you can jam out to and sing!

Honorable mentions: Square One, DAAHF, Don't Panic & GPASUYF (the funky version that they play on the b-stage in concert!)

1. Viva la Vida - nothing makes me feel like this song does. It's my favorite song of all time. It just gets me amp'ed

2. Life in Technicolr ii - loved the first one and didn't think lyrics would sound good, but it sounds amazing, and you can sing it out loud. It puts me in a really good mood.

3. Fix You - Always loved it. I love how it builds up with guitar, and than drums... ahhh so good, and the meaning is really heartfelt

there are many, but these are the bests for me:

1.- life in technicolor ii- I really love the part "every road is just a ray of light" with that awesome voice over there; well but I really love the entire song:D

2.- yes.- how on earth does anybody could resist about his sexiest voice?!

3.-lost! & lost?- the two versions are quite cool, in lost! I love the rhythm and in lost? I love the piano!=P

4.-postcards from far away- this "instrumental" it's just perfect, I can't decribe it in other word

Well I know for sure one song that's FOREVER my favorite Coldplay song:

1. The Scientist: Out of all the songs, I'm really touched by this particular one because this is a brilliantly-written pop/rock ballad. BEAUTIFUL chord progressions and lyrics. It talks about love in a realistic way, and the song coincidentally happens to be everything that I see in myself (:\). LoL if all of that wasn't enough, I was about 4-5 feet away from them when the band serenaded this song in the nosebleeds during the concert a few months ago. So yeah, how can this not be my favorite song!

As for top songs #2 and #3, it changes from time to time. But for now:

2. Politik: I love the music composition...it's grandiose and theatrical yet very elegant, as the lyrics are just as smartly written too. This is definitely one of my top favorite songs to hear at a Coldplay concert (it brings out my inner-headbanger....lol it is a rock concert after all :laugh1:).

3. Strawberry Swing: This is officially my "happy" song. Everytime I hear this I picture running through a lush field of green grass and gorgeously-blooming wildflowers thats located beside the ocean on a cliff. :nice:

Only three??? Uff... Let's see...

1. Life In Technicolor II -> simply great! The music, the lyrics... all! Amazing song and can't stop listening it!

2. Lost! -> since the first time I listened, one of my favourite songs of them!

3. Viva La Vida -> perfect from the beginning to the end. Just orga...c for me... Fantastic!

1) Prospekts March

2) Viva La Vida

3) Talk

my 3 favs at the moment

hard to pick just 3, but I'll try:

1-Fix You - the 1st one I ever heard & fell in love with immediately, so touching

2- Scientist - Chris really emotes on this one and I can feel it!

3- Death and All his Friends - I sing it constantly, wish it were longer

1. Talk: The drums and bass really make this song. Upbeat, Coldplay at their rock-est.

2. God Put a Smile Upon Your Face: Can't explain it. Great song.

3. Amsterdam: It's very moving. The climax arrives perfectly and works even better live (not only using Live 03 as a reference).

AGH SO MANY MORE

Honorable mentions: Death and All His Friends, Don't Panic, Yellow, Everything's Not Lost, Reign of Love

right now i would say

Death will never conquer :: I put this on repeat, it's a brilliant melody, love chris's voice in it, he sounds so different. makes me happy.

Life in technicolor II :: The first song I listen to every day. The riff is addictive. Most played song on my iPod.

A message :: This one I listen to whenever I feel depressed. It's just so emotional and pleading. Always makes me feel warm and calm.

Now my feet won't touch the ground :: Awsome melody. Brilliant guitar.

Oh dear.....I'm going to have an aneurysm trying to rank them!

1. Amsterdam

2. Gravity

3. Life in Technicolor ii

Oh gah...that was hard.....

4. Politik

5. Yellow

OH wait....you said 3......I just couldn't stop.

O (fly on)

postcards from ...

x marks the spot ( i know, i know, most of you will judge me for this one, but hey :D )

Trouble...that piano at the beginning is just KILLING ME every-single-time :D :D :D

and if I may add...

Postcards from far away is my favorite masterpiece from Coldplay! 24/7 <3

I have an all-time top 3 that doesn't move

1. Politik: to me it's simply the most beautiful piece of music ever. One of their most powerful, if not the most powerful song, too.

2. Death and all his friends: i think this song perfectly showcases what they're capable of doing, as a band. And it gets me everytime.

3. Clocks: i used to only enjoy this song, but one day I saw it through a different perspective, and it gave a whole new dimension to the song for me, and i feel a strong connection to it. It's really personal, and so it gets me like no other.

:wacky:

Atlas: cuz yeh:heart::wacky:

Square One: The energy of it, the scale of it, the wonderful Radioheadness of it. Amazing opener to an album.

Clocks: One of my first Coldplay songs:D

My number 1 doesn't change it will always be Viva La Vida. I think it has a powerful sound and somehow it gives me a message that I can succeed even when the lyrics doesn't match with the title. Moreover, the title is written in Spanish and was inspired by Frida Khalo a Mexican painter who has a great story.

My number 2 and 3 might change.

2 Spies: I love the song and, I don't know what is the real meaning of the lyrics but every time I listen to it I think about people looking at everything I do but at the end it doesn't matter I have to keep moving forward.

3 Miracles: I love the message. I can help but thinking everything will be ok as long as I have a good attitude.

1 - Up With The Birds. I mean, this is simply just a masterpiece. I could go on and on about how this is the perfect song. The beginning is a nice quiet way to open it up, to put you in a sadder mood. Then it just blows up into this massive beautiful sound scape. It's a mix of sad, happy, hopelessness, hopefulness, just everything. Just powerful. Then you hear "Up with the Birds" and it brings a tear perfectly to your eye as the transition piece comes in, which is such a nice little quiet piece that just fits perfectly after the massive soundscape. Then the song just picks up right again with one of the best guitar parts I've heard in my life. It is wonderfully happy and cheerful, yet has a sad melancholy side buried within. The vocals and strings join in and it's just a mix of all emotions honestly. This is also one of the best parts ever of a song. The lyrics are so fitting and amazing to. The drums kick in, and a simple thought, but I know one day. Good things are coming our way. Such a simple and straightforward lyric as itself days but it's so powerful, and sad, yet Hopeful. This is what I'm looking for. Yes, is happy, but people say that Mylo is all happy, that is false and songs like these prove it, Mylo had a dark and sad side just like the albums that came before it. It just actually openly Hopeful. It had emotion and sadness to it, that's why I think Mylo is still good like the previous albums. On with the song, by now, you already have the best piece of music ever written. Just the perfect combo of everything. The one fault it would have without the outro is that it even did. I'd like the song to go on forever. But look, you already have the best song in the world, but guess what, now you have the outro. This outro I swear it's done so well that it's not even a problem when it's over because you heard the best outro ever. If it had a less good outro I'd say that it is a minus that it had an outro. But this outro is just the best sound EVER. You thought the rest of the song was good, then you have the outro and it just blows it all away. You have the "Yeahhhhhhhhhhh" then it just drops everything, and his perfectly into the best piece of any music ever written, the piano outro has the best melody of anything ever. The sorrow, sadness, hopefulness, happiness.. Words can't describe it even remotely and it brings a few tears el every time. It's put perfectly and wow I just feel like I'm ruining it because I'm trying to put it in words. Just listen for yourself, truly magical, I'm out of this I don't want to do A disservice to the music, honestly. This post is already long enough. I'll explain my next two fav songs later.

Spies after re watching this

Death and All His Friends because I forgot how to play the beginning on piano so I relearned it, also it's just a blast to play and listen to.

Strawberry Swing because I've been trying to find a way to make it sound nice on piano.

Clocks .. NOSTALGIA

The Scientist .. The Main Reason why i wanted to buy AROBTTH

In My Place .. Again the reason why i fall in love with AROBTTH and made me excited about anything new from Coldplay

and then all of VLVODAAHF and LIT II made me realize that this band is really SPECIAL

1. Warning Sign: Their best song, imo. I love the last piano part, the lyrics and that beautiful melody. It reminds me of someone.

2. Hurts Like Heaven: Their best fast-paced song. I love the lyrics, drums and guitar!

3. See You Soon (Live 2003): Absolutely beautiful. I need to hear it live.
