Very smooth in Vancouver both nights. Had them at the main exits. Only problem was it backed everything up right to the stage! Other than that smooth and slow

I went to the Shoreline show and it went real smooth. They handed them out at the gates as you were walking out.But I think it was only one gate but it was easy getting a copy.

Yes, it was completely smooth and easy at Shoreline. I was worried that I wouldn't get a copy, or the they'd run out, but when I got the to the gates they had a huge stack and were handing them out one by one. :nice:

Toronto July 30 2009

At the Rogers Ctr. show in Toronto, people exiting were funnelled through sets of barriers to be given their CD by venue staff. Becasue it was so hot and humid that night, it made for a very uncomfortable, prolonged mass exit. At least one person passed out, causing congestion on either side of that line. The public areas between the stadium and the exits were not well ventilated and we were packed like sardiines. I know some people were quite claustrophobic and near panic, which was a little scary for a moment.

The "handing out" involved a venue staffer holding a stack of CD's in one hand a a box of them in the other. One could have taken as many as they liked. In our party of 3, two of us each took one, and the 3rd person declined, preferring to download it to his MP3.

LOVE the CD! It's like re-living the concert over and over!

i also went to that toronto show, no problem with me...i didnt leave early or anything...i went with 3 other ppl and we all got one CD

I got exactly 2 cds..the lady was really nice..(she saw me all obsessed :laugh3:)

:shy:

I was at the Toronto show and I had an unfortunate time trying to get a CD. All of the exits were so clogged and painfully slow; my sister and I tried to find ways of getting out of there alive (it was really hot inside). We reached the exit to one of the gates and we saw a man (who works at the venue) and he was giving out the CDs but told us: "I have no more CDs, all of the boxes are empty" and I think a person in front of us said: "Well no wonder, I see people taking 5 or 6 CDs instead of just taking one". He replied to the man by saying there are tons on Ebay...it frustrated a lot of the people. So my sister and I thought that even though we didn't get a CD, we had the best time of our lives. We met up with our mum (who was in the 500s and had left a bit early) and she said she got us CDs because she knew something like this would happen since 45,000 people were trying to leave the gates! All in all, I think Rogers Centre could have done something differently so that each person got a CD. We saw a lot of people without CDs as well as others with 4 or 5 in their hands.

I went to the July 18 show at the Home Depot Center in Carson,CA and me, my sister, and her friend were all given one CD each. We were exiting from the V.I.P. exit and I saw that there was a guy handing them out there but he ran out when I was almost there. I shoved myself back inside the arena through a security guard. She almost didn't let us pass, but I was not about to leave without my CD! So I just ignored her and pushed myself through her. We quickly went to the main entrance and they still had plenty there. I had no trouble at all getting one there. As we were walking to our car, we passed the V.I.P. entrance, and I saw that they had gotten more. No one was exiting through there anymore but the guy handing them out was giving one to each of the employees and valet workers. That kind of pissed me off because those CD's weren't for them, and probably some people who actually paid for a ticket didn't get one. I didn't let it get to me that much though because at least I got mine.:D

It really just seemed to vary from venue to venue. My experience in San Antonio was fine- slow, but fine. Lines out for people wanting CDs one one side, and for those who didn't on the other. They had people at each door holding a box, handing individual CDs to each person exiting. Very similar set up at the Woodlands in Houston. Dallas was not good. Huge throng of people with no discernible lines and very, very hot. Here, they also had people at the gates holding the boxes and handing out the CDs, just not nearly enough staffers (or exits for that matter) to make it go smoothly. We ended up with a total of 5 CDs from our summer shows. I kept one and gave out the rest to Coldplayers here who needed them through the CD exchange. :)

That has pissed me off to read that one prick took TEN CDs?!?! Are you kidding? 0.0

I went with one other person, but met and made two friends at the August 7th show (we had to drive forever to get to Charlotte), and we each only took one, the gates were being flooded with people, and all of them wanted the free live album, it had to have been crazy for the people handing them out.. when I finally got mine in my hands, I was still smiling widely (I LOVE Coldplay, and was ecstatic I got to see them, and with such a good seat too, it felt like a dream almost =X Ive never been such a HUGE fan of a band before), and really it never crossed my mind I could have grabbed more, but now I think about it I guess I could have at least gotten a second if not a third. But TEN?! What a prick

a very good experience at the shoreline in SF. my sister and i went running like crazy right after LITii mostly cuz we wanted to avoid as much traffic as possible on our way home. but as we were running i started to freak out cuz i remember hearing how in some shows they had run out of cds this made me run even faster towards the gates. but it was all real smooth and i didnt see a way of getting more than one. they did a pretty good job i think.

I was in the PIT at the Charlotte show on Aug 7th. Even though I had read on here about the free cd and Chris announced it just before doing The Scientist, I nearly forgot about it on the way out! I was still buzzing from the excitement of the concert I guess. We had lingered in the PIT briefly after the show so by no means was I one of the first out. There was a big crowd heading to the gates, and I heard somebody up ahead say "you don't need another one of those-you already have one" which reminded me about the cd. So I looked around, and close by there was an event staffer handing them out. She had one box in her hands and a couple more on the ground. People were just kind of surrounding her from all sides (not a line), so I stepped over there and she gave me a cd. It did not occur to me to try to get more than one, but there are always greedy people out there who want more than their share. :veryangry2:

Anyway, I really did not have a problem getting a cd, and I appreciate the gesture by Coldplay to give a cd to the fans who paid to see them. It's hard to say what would be the best way to disperse the cds. Crowds can be hard to control, and there are always people who are going to try to break the rules. Giving them out after the show seems ok to me, but it depends on the good faith that people will not abuse that and try to take multiple copies for themselves. If you give them out before the show, people have to keep up with the cd for the whole concert. I probably would have lost mine in the PIT!! Plus that would kind of steal the thunder of Coldplay getting to make the announcement to the crowd. I do hope everyone that went to a concert is able to get a copy - it's a great cd!!

How the heck did you get 3?

:laugh3:

You're so lucky...

I promised I'd get my little brother something from the Coldplay concert, but after spending all my money on a T-shirt, buttons, and a poster, I had nothing to give him.

So I gave him the CD, and by the next day he had folded and torn the cover!

But that's my little brother for you :P

Well, I got 4 of them :wacky:

I got 5 of them.

I thought the 'handing out' was not very well organized in the UK/Ireland as you literally had to go SEARCHING for the people with the CDs while in the Netherlands/Germany you just couldn't miss being given a CD :)

Didn't see anyone at Wembley on the 19th, handing out the CDs but I wasn't that desperate as I got my copy the night before ... :)

Everything was arranged perfectly at Wembley, except for the handing out of the LRLRL cd's (although on the 18th it was quite easy to get one, didn't even have to wait, they were just standing outside) it seems.

I got 5 of them.

:wideeyed:

You win :shame:

WHAT?! :stunned:

If there is something in life that was FAAAAAAAAAAR from perfectly arranged was Wembley. Don't get me wrong, the concert was AMAZING. but the organization pre-concert was crap. from queuing system to communication it was all pretty messy.

I didn't see a soul handing out cd's on the 19th, luckily, Chris (Jizo) gave me his, since he already had from previous concerts...

On Friday everything was great, especially compared to the Rotterdam, Antwerp and Nijmegen gigs. The queueing system was the best I've ever seen, although most people who were standing in front of me were standing behind me at the concert. :P

I never saw anyone giving out the CD, so I didn't get one, but that's ok!
