Translations after editing of some articles and interviews

ANA FURTADO'S INTERVIEW WITH CHRIS MARTIN AND JONNY BUCKLAND OF COLDPLAY - March 2010 (translated by GOOGLE, EDITED by NANCY Boysen)

Ana Furtado interviews Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland of Coldplay

(2.3.10) -

(belongs to the link in post 181 of this 2.3.10 concert thread)

Presenter challenges the singer in a game of ping-pong.

Ana Furtado is a fan of Coldplay. The presenter had the happy challenge of interviewing singer Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland on Sunday, the day the band performed in the Apotheosis Square in Rio de Janeiro. Here in Brazil the British band's most successful song was " Viva La Vida ", which was part of the soundtrack of the novel A Favorita.

.

Our presenter was beyond? the interview: Seeing that the singer had a ping-pong in the dressing room, she challenged him in a match. Result: "gain of 4 to 1 Chris Martin!", cheered Ana.

But Chris was so happy with the reception in Rio de Janeiro: "Listen to the fans outside the hotel, singing our songs, it's fun, it's really cool!".

"To see people singing our songs in concert is one of the best feelings in life, it is like having a child," said Jonny, with a laugh.

Chris Martin said that the funniest thing about the Rio fans is that everyone has a great pace, and even improve some songs. "The other day we got to the hotel and they were singing an old song with a new rhythm, half hip-hop, and was even better than the original version.

"It's funny that in some countries we have 10 hits, and in others only one. So we do not know what is the most successful song and what is not," said Chris. Coldplay is presented tonight at the Stadium Morumbi in Sao Paulo.

Editing of Google translation of article (in post 163) on the trip to visit Ronaldo!

Coldplay was pleased to play with Ronaldo

Coldplay was pleased to play with Ronaldo. Today in San Paulo, the British rock band Coldplay visited Brazil's striker / football player Ronaldo, top scorer in the world, in training Corinthians.

Chris Martin, Coldplay's lead singer, was not coming due to the rainy weather that could cause voice problems for the concert scheduled for tonight at Morumbi stadium in Sao Paulo, Globo TV reported.

Visiting the headquarters of Corinthians to meet Ronaldo were guitarist Jonny Buckland, (bassist Guy Berryman) and drummer Will Champion.

The musicians played a little football with Ronaldo, midfielder Edu and team captain, defender William in the Parque Sao Jorge, home of Corinthians in the area east of San Pablo/San Paulo.

Coldplay played a concert on Sunday at Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro as part of their world tour to present their latest album "Viva la Vida". (ANSA).

Another article about the Ronaldo visit (I edited the Google translation brought here and was lucky enough to recognize many words - so at least better translation than before)

Coldplay visits Ronaldo in Park São Jorge without singer Chris Martin

The English rockgroup that is present in São Paulo this Tuesday was in Park Sao Jorge to meet the phenomenon.

With Ronaldo playing in Brazil, it has become attractive for the international stars passing the country to pay him a visit. This Tuesday, the English group Coldplay was in the Park São Jorge to meet the Phenomenon and the club.

With the Timão uniform and their names on the backs of the jerseys, Jon Buckland (guitar), Guy Berryman (bass) and Will Champion (drums) had been on the lawn of the Fazendinha and talked to jersey 9, (midfielder) Edu and the zagueiro Pablo Andres and posed for the photographers and cinegrafists?. The singer and leader of the group, Chris Martin, did not show up. Sunday, they had been performing in Rio De Janeiro and will perform this Tuesday, in Morumbi, São Paulo.

Coldplay was founded in 1998 in London and has so far recorded four records with about 50 million sold copies world-wide. The band's main successes are “Yellow”, “Trouble”, “Clocks”, “In my place”, “Speed of sound” and “VIVA LA VIDA”, the latter being the most recent success.

Present in the Park São Jorge for another event was President Andrés Sanches who did not seem very animated by the presence of the band and he admitted that he knows absolutely nothing about the band's work.

- I like samba more - he summarized.

The technician Mano Menezes admitted to having little contact with Coldplay's music, but he approved the meeting with the players and he compared the work of the English band with soccer.

- We are searching to find notes. I asked for partitions of the band to improve (laughs). I am not fond of bands. I see good games, it does not confuse the work and it widens the relations. This is good for the club. Soccer is a bit more durable (rather than: harder) than music. What is written in the partition is leaving tomorrow = Music is forgotten tomorrow? As to soccer, you "write" it and it does not leave = it is not forgotten - it had to be said.

Ronaldo has already received famous visitors since he arrived at the Corinthians. In the past year, he has seen actor Hugh Jackman, the cartoonist Maurício de Souza and pilot Rubens Barrichello. The player also met with the president of Israel, Shimon Perez, in his visit to São Paulo.

There are news already!

It says that they've ended their shows here and described the musics they played...and reinforced that they must have a new album by the end of the year with Brian Eno's help!:D

Pics are amazing too...

Amazing pictures with focus on Chris & Jonny.

I wish professional photographers would focus on Guy and Will as well. The rythm section doesn't get enough attention
The pros are only allowed out for the first few songs and have to stand over by the ramp of love, so that's why most of their pics have the Chris and Jonny shots.

How could any one resist this smile. :wacky:

Plus, it would much easier for them... they don't have to risk getting blurry pictures from chasing a frickin energizer bunny all over the stage.
