And here comes Mark's Coldplay-related puns, right on cue.

Anyways, this source could be unreliable so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I know a lot of people have Eno issues, but personally I think he's great and I'm happy he's going to be working with Coldplay again.

Eerie? Sounds quite inetresting:)

I really hope they release the next album in 2010. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it would be awesome if they did:)

In some ways I'd like this to be true... But, at the same time, it's The Sun and they're not exactly the most accurate of papers :\

and here comes emma's hope-crushing words, right on cue. :disappointed:

i'm getting my hopes up anyway. :P

I wish it didn't but this article just sounds too good to be true. It also has taken "facts" that all of us already know from past interviews and articles and constued them to make them fit this story of a new album. Well, besides the church bit that is.

In some ways I'd like this to be true... But, at the same time, it's The Sun and they're not exactly the most accurate of papers :\

Gordon Smart was the only journalist to break the news of Jonny's wedding. And he's played football with them while on tour!

He may be a more reliable source than you think.

:wideeyed: OH EM GEE. How I hope and pray this article has some truth to it, especially the bit about them focusing more on more raw acoustic tracks (going back to Parachutes...) and playing smaller venues (!!!) :D I couldn't control my excitement at that part, it's totally my dream for such a thing to happen although I didn't believe it ever could now they're so big... it would give us all an opportunity to see them in a more intimate/smaller venue again (as I myself never have..). If this could just be true, Christmas has come early!

Yeah, I totally agree with that statement. This IS The Sun - a tabloid newspaper, and they do often make things up/embellish them to the extreme, so... I'd take it with a pinch of salt.. and try to not get my hopes up too much! I do see the part about their next album being released next year as pretty legit as there's been a lot of rumours of a 2011 release and we know they've been working on new material since before the Viva tour ended. (But again, the whole thing with X&Y.) I also think it's probably true the quote about Chris and not wanting the band to become completely alienated from the fans despite their impending rock god status... it's quite obvious to see that that's what the boys do want and their feet are still firmly on the ground. And I love them so much for it. :D

Ooo this is so exciting!! :D

I can't wait for the new album!!

The thing is with The Sun is they've got this reputation as being only truthful about the date and the football results. But like earlier posts said, they've been a reliable source of Coldplay news in the past, and we've already seen that Coldplay themselves have a good relationship with them.

Remember Gordon Smart's interview last year in Salt Lake City?

Super excited for the acoustic vibe, and of course the idea of smaller venues!

And tiny infant jesus please let me be able to get tickets to club shows without having to resort to murder.

+1000000000

it'd be so impossible to get tickets to tiny venue shows... :uhoh:

Wonderful news that made my day. I'm really looking forward to their new album.:dance:

Great news! What a way to start off my morning. :)

I don't wanna be too hyped up but awesome news =D

acoustic stuff

seem they liked the experience of recording VLV in Barcelona's church ;)

hope it all is right and they release a new album and tour in smaller venues.

I like this, I like this.

But, If they wanna' keep me as a fan this album needs to be really good...

I can't express my exciteness with words so I'll do it with these smileys:

this is certainly an interesting bit of information...if it is based on any facts. you never really know with the sun. most of the time we just read articles that take quotes from the band members themselves and act as if they are hard facts.

i don't much care about what they say the album will be like, because i think despite what they may say Coldplay are still trying to be the biggest band in the world and album 5 can't let them down in that department. if they want to be mentioned long term like u2 and others, they need to do something not necessarily big and bombastic, but great.

as long as they do something great, i don't care what type of music they call it or where it's recorded.

of course i can from a "what are they up to" perspective, but beyond that i have no personal belief that they should go in one direction or the other.

we know eno is on board (and we've known for sometime), so i have to feel in his dutiful hands we'll be alright. as long as the band make sure he is just producer (and not album fuck chuck like he was on U2's last album) they and we will all be fine.

:laugh3: love that smiley!! Ian should add it to the board
