I love it! I didn't have great expectations because Christmas songs usually tend to be cheesy and well, Christmassy, and that's basically what I was expecting but in a more Coldplay way, but they surprised me. If you expected something like Moses or from Parachutes you were in for a disappointment imo.

I love the song! One of the things I like the most is that it starts all quiet and builds up as it progresses, kinda like DAAHF.

Of course it will not have the same effect if you listen to it in April or July! :P

Maybe I need to listen to it more.

Because I don't hate it or dislike it, but I'm not inlove with it.

I don't like to have high expectations, so eh.

So, I'm not sure dur hurr good reason to post :E

no, i don't like it ...................... I LOVE IT IT'S AWESOME I LOVED IT SOOOOO MUCH THAT I WAS SCREAMING IN CLASS AND MY TEACHER SENT ME OUTSIDE :D

I really like the song... The tune is really nice, and I'm loving the lyrics. Especially the last part with the: "Oh Christmas lights light up the street, light up the fireworks in me. May all your troubles soon be gone, those Christmas lights keep shining on"

It's a really beautiful song, it's been on replay since I first heard it!

I didnt have highhopes because Christmas is my 2nd least favorite time of year.

........January and Febuary are my 1st.

I really like it, and I'll probably end up loving it later on. The piano sounds lovely, and the melody is wonderfully uplifting.

"I always loved you, darling, and I always will" totally got me.

Although, I can't help thinking that the lyric "Tears we cried a flood" sounds awkward. I'm not good at recognizing what are "good lyrics" or "bad lyrics", but the wording is just . . . weird. Maybe it's just me, but either way, it bothers me a lot. Please don't hate me. :uhoh:

ETA: As for expectations, I didn't have high ones. Can't say I was disappointed.

Honestly, when I first heard it, I was less then thrilled. But I've listened to it like 300 times now, and I love it XD

Honestly, I listened to the preview 150 times

and i've had the full version on replay ALL DAY !

ITS AMAZING. Not even kidding. I Love this song. For the first time, I Feel like a kid again and have a surge of christmas spirit (:

The reason my expectations weren't super-high is because of the mixed reactions the boat people had about it. That said, I like it quite a bit. I'm always a sucker for Coldplay's piano, and I probably prefer it over a couple songs on Viva already. So it's not my favorite Coldplay song by a longshot, but given how a Christmas single could have really bombed (I listened to The Killers' Christmas track yesterday and hated it), this has succeeded in getting me back in a Coldplay mood after not listening to them much in 2010. Will that last until LP5? Who knows. But the anticipation is finally starting to develop.

i think i like it a lot

you love it, admit it!

ok i love it:D

good girl! :D

I didn't like it. I LOVED IT!!! It's so sweet and is true to Coldplay form.

I loved it my expectations were sky high and coldplay met them just like they always do. they have never disappointed me before.

Not really. But then, I hate all Christmas songs.

That^

I wasnt expecting it to be my favorite.

But I didnt think I'd be this indifferent about a COLDPLAY song.

Which I am.

And it makes me really sad... and worried.

I guess I could write it off as me being cold and dead and miserable inside when it comes to Christmas.

I hope thats all it is....

Winter in general is always the hardest season for me to cope with.

But if Coldplays next album has songs all like that... having me feeling like this....

:srs:

I'm loving it! I've had it on repeat pretty much all day since I got it at 7 this morning... it's already my second-top song on Last.fm, and my top song in my iTunes (60 plays!! :D)

Yes, I am sad and obsessive. And yes, I am on holidays.

Based on the part we heard in the 60 Minutes interview last year, I figured that this would be a calm, low-key song. I had no idea that Christmas Lights would be so epic. Excellent song to get us all even more pumped up for the new album.

I loved it from the moment I first heard it on the boat last Thursday evening. :P

^i hate you!

I'm a fan of the Killlers but I didn't like their Chrismas single at all.
