a Coldplay album should be exactly that, a Coldplay album, not a Coldplay featuring Rihanna. This isn't Watch the Throne with Jay-Z and Kanye.

I'm really trying not to jump to conclusions. But the thought of me buying the album, flipping it over to read the track-listing and seeing "featuring Rhianna" is kinda making me sick.

Gosh dang it, I can only imagine she'll have a huge part of the song too, with it going back in forth going "Once upon a time this..." and then the she says "Once upon a time that..."

If this end up being true, I'd rather listen to the song before jumping to conclusions. What if we like the result? I don't think it's automatically bad just because it's rihanna.

If it was a song that was not in the album,its ok.

Rihanna's songs are catchy, fun and sexy but she is not even an average vocalist.

I guess the boys are just using her voice as an instrument and to bring edginess to the song.

I need to remember she has nothing to do with the song.

However it will be weird to hear a voice other Chris angelic voice :(

Guys, it could have been a lot worse. At least we don't have Nicki Minaj getting her trash all over the album.

 

It's not even a straight-up duet. Look at Arcade Fire's Speaking In Tongues. If they under-use Rihanna as much as David Byrne is on that track, then it's nothing to worry about.
