What do you think of the HLH studio version?

Featured Replies

I do like the album version, it's brill, but... I think the verses need to be sped up a bit, particularly the opening couple. They just feel really slow, and seem to lack the energy from the live shows. I know it's studio, but I think speeding up the opening a bit may have helped...

HLH Cover

Hey guys,

here is my MX & HLH cover. Check it out. I hope you like it! Feedback appreciated ;)

The voice effects are so amazing and it does suit the theme of the album. It introduces that particular theme in this song aswell.

I don't like how MX is different then how they play it live. I like the xylophone throughout MX.

I love it, best album opener since Politik. :guitarist: The raw guitar, the sustaining drum beat, god i give it a 9.8/10, the live version 13/10.

Ehm, I thought the live version was much better  Chris' vocals are too tampered-with for my liking (and Major Minus is one of my favorites off MX)

overall it's great but I prefer the live version....

by the way, it's very strange listening HLH on my ipod without the MX intro.

they should keep as one single track, like Yes/Chinese Sleep Chant.

:\

I agree, but if they did, the intro would have been too long and when it's played on the radio, it would take a while for non huge COLDPLAY fans to know that it's Hirts Like Heaven.

I actually love the album. Amazing. And HLH studio is amazing. It shows their artistic side. The live shows their huge amazing raw talent.

HLH is probably THE BEST SONG on MX. It ROCKS. Coldplay have shown us that once again, they can kick some serious musical ass.

i think the studio and the live version are both amazing , but this one is the best

I previously found it annoying with all this production effects, but now it's one of my favourite from the album, and I'd say it's better than the live version. It rocks !

Yeah, almost two months after I first heard the studio version I'm still addicted (and even getting more addicted) to this song. My absolute fav of the moment.

Makes me feel a little bit nervous... and super excited!

I personally think one of Chris Martin's best songs lyrically.

i love it too. it gives me the sense of space and it's so playful. really gets my mood sky high. so does the whole album. :)

it's great indeed, tom. i saw it the other day and my jaw dropped. :)

I'm glad that I hadn't watched the summer festivals before the album release. I see a lot of people complaining about the studio versions.

I heard all of the songs (minus the singles) for the first time when I got the album and I fell for MX instantly. HLH and CB were the main reasons why.
