September 5, 201312 yr Overall it's a very good song, less production and i reckon they're following the right direction, masterworks will come out in due time (LP6!)
September 5, 201312 yr Feeling a bit underwhelmed by it at the moment. I think I'll wait to listen to it again in high quality. Maybe it'll grow on me.
September 5, 201312 yr The deep bases reminds me alot of the MX era, yet the lyrics have more of an X&Y feel to it. So cool seeing the different eras mesh together in one song. In general an awesome song, totally blew my expectations! :awesome:
September 5, 201312 yr ¡¡Preciosa canción, muchísimas gracias!! ¡¡Beautiful song, thank you so much!! Nice, nice, nice. Absolutely nice... :)
September 5, 201312 yr First of all, not so keen on the lyrics, let's say they are all right at best, but that's something I've known for a month. I really like the beginning and the build-up, but not really what it builds up to (2:27 onwards). This part feels too much like a generic Paradise beat to me. I do love the Jonny guitar picks near the end and the outro. Overall, I'm content because I know it could have been a lot worse if they had stuck to the MX path. It feels like Moving To Mars, only less good. MTM being my favourite song of my least favourite Coldplay era. I gave it a 7/10 rating, which seems like not much compared to the other voters, but it's good. It's all right. Well done Coldplay.
September 5, 201312 yr Does anyone think this is the Frankfurt song Roadie #42 wrote about? The drum "explosion" at the start of the refrain makes me believe that.
September 5, 201312 yr Based on the one and a half minute I've heard I liked it, seems like a something between Viva La Vida and Mylo Xyloto sounds, I really like the build up and I'm dying to hear the rest
September 5, 201312 yr So far I've only heard the preview (T.T i want the full one) :) i love the piano though 9-10/10 (compared to their previous songs)
September 5, 201312 yr The song is very beautiful. The chorus is fantastic, and if Coldplay can carry this quality of music into LP6, it may be their best album ever. When Chris sings "carry your world," this is about as good as Coldplay can get. I love how stark the piano is, and the 'wer wer wer wer wer' of the guitar in the background during the verse really hearkens back to the pre-Parachutes era (see No More Keeping My Feet On the Ground). Put simply, this song is a love letter from Coldplay to their fans. If I had one gripe, it would be that the verses could be better. Or maybe it's just the chorus is too damn good. 9/10
September 5, 201312 yr I think this song is like a mix of all the eras of Coldplay ... And it sounds great to me ! I gave 9/10 , because i found in this song the reason why i love Coldplay so much :D
September 5, 201312 yr i gave a 8 lol not that i did not liked it, but im waiting for the official release, but so far soo good :D wjhen i think they cant get any better, they just give us something that makes me LOVEEEEEE them again and again
September 5, 201312 yr On this review site they have the whole song in a video. http://www.directlyrics.com/full-version-of-coldplays-catching-fire-track-atlas-is-here-listen-news.html I hope this is allowed because its an awesome song! This is NOT a download link
September 5, 201312 yr During the second chorus, are those electronic drums? With the low quality I can't tell. But I REALLY like the drums there. It sounds kinda dubsteppy, but not really..... weird :D I'd actually really like someone's opinion on this.
September 5, 201312 yr Verse piano sounds a bit Radioheady no? I was thinking that the entire time, and I love that! I guess I'm not too fond on the chorus after my first full listen, but the rest of the song is quite good! Sort of somber and melancholy, but I like that. X&Y was clearly an influence on this song, and I fucking love that. Also everything from the introduction of the other instruments and on is seriously just superb. I think that one minute had more emotion than the majority of Mylo Xyloto. 9/10 (on first listen).

I didn't even think of that, but you're totally right. Very much a sort of callback to the olden days.
September 5, 201312 yr I didn't even think of that, but you're totally right. Very much a sort of callback to the olden days. Right!? :D It seems like this is what Coldplayers have been begging for ever since ETIAW dropped. A mix of a bunch of eras.
September 5, 201312 yr First off... YAY A LEAK SO I DON'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW :D But about the song itself. Is Atlas on the legendary level of Clocks, Paradise, and Moving to Mars? Not quite. But it's right below it. If there was a 9.5 on the poll, I'd have picked that. Yet again, our beloved Coldplay delivers another epic. But are we really surprised? We've come to expect greatness like this from these guys. I just love Coldplay. :)

September 5, 201312 yr I really really hope LP 6 follows Altas' sound/theme/production. It's what MX would have been if Moving to Mars on it. Heh. :P
