I just hope davide will tease us with a sample of his string and horns because he's been using instagram a lot. Maybe this album will have a more classical feel? Example: mozart and beethoven. Plus chris said he's been listening to mozart a lot.

I'm honestly thinking it's going to be in this direction. I mean, we have Waltz in B Minor as a potential song title, Chris talking about Chopin (which may not mean anything of course, but still!), and now we have news about horns and strings being used. It'll most definitely be in a different way than we're expecting still, but I'm excited for the chance it may be classical-esque.

My other theory is this: when Chris talked about it being the end of something, I sincerely believe he's talking about the themed, artsy albums. And I don't just mean with music, but with covers too. Viva was classical paintings, MX was graffiti and Ghost Stories was etches -- so will LP7 be the final art-themed album? I have no doubt the cover will still have a large focal point with a few mixed colors behind it, or perhaps a more detailed background.

I swear, if LP7 has an Art Deco theme, I will lose it. I suppose it doesn't match the classical time period (by a couple hundred years), but it always looks cool as fuck. But seeing as Viva used artwork from the Romanticism era, I doubt they'd go back to that exact time in history for art.

C.M. : (entering the studio) Guys, guys! I've been listening to so much inspirational stuff here in the US.

J.B. : Like what?

C.M. : (agitated) Like Mozart. Chopin. Brubeck.

W.C. : Oh, so that means you're back at the piano, right? This should be good. You know it's your thing.

C.M. : Wait, there's more. There's this unbeliebable Vietnamese band that plays harps with animal bones. Magical stuff!

G.B. : This sounds great, Chris! I can't wait to go back to work!

C.M. : I'm not done yet, Guy. I just came back from Tyva. The throat singing was breathtaking! So many ideas on my iPhone now.

W.C. : Chris, you never cease to amaze me with your creativity. So, are we making something epic? Something like Viva La Vida? Should I call Eno?

C.M. : (sitting on the sofa and putting his feet up on the table) Well, almost.

J.B. : ???

C.M. : Get this...

Everybody: (listening intently)

C.M. : We are making a DUBSTEP RECORD! Jen is bringing Skrillex over to produce it.

W.C. : Oh, you little...!!

No edm! No dubstep! That phase is over. Hopefully!

I swear to god, if this is real...

That's a good point about the past album covers. They all have been artsy. Lol. I'm curious how the horns will sound. To be honest. I thought it was going to be another electronic pop album, now i'm certain we'll hear more viva-esque songs with a twist.

All 5 of them wearing smiley face hats!!!!![emoji4][emoji4][emoji4][emoji4][emoji4] awwwww cute....

I hope the use of horns will sound similar to Eclectic Moniker.

[smoke is rising from the houses]

I'm just feeling a mix of horns and strings could be used so awesomely. Like big build up songs that just sound so grand, like a mix of Politik/Don't Let It Break Your Heart/Atlas/Miracles kind of thing

omg don't make me wanna have something that's probably never gonna happen! :worried:

ok.. slightly off topic, but...

efestivals are at it again. this time supposedly based on a comment from glastonbury organizer, that chris (or coldplay?) is involved in the sunday headliner.

maybe he is involved as in getting the band/bands showing up? i still have a lot of doubt that coldplay would headline so soon.

I know! It would just be the most amazing song! And the worst part is, is that it's a song/album that Coldplay could easily do, but they most likely won't...

I know!! It's so frustrating! D:

If Davide made a similar composition as VLV with some Parachutes or AROBTTH vibe that would be more awesome. I'd definitely love to hear that song composed by him feat. the band.

Usage of horns and strings?

Famous Old Painters and Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground come to mind easily -- trumpets were used, and don't guitars have strings? :D

All things aside, this is starting to turn into a combination of EVERY SINGLE Coldplay album to date, adding some electronic influences to date. Hopefully they don't go to electronic (maybe just about as much as Keane has -- they've been VERY good about keeping the combination balanced).

The strings are from davide rossi's violins. Haha.

Hopefully they don't go to electronic

If they dare to go any more electronic than Ghost Stories I'mma call them E-play :mean:

What if Coldplay would sound like more of country-ish? :P

Holy Mother of God no. Strawberry Swing is about as country as I like my Coldplay:cowboy:

A little bit like Til Kingdom Come?

I didn't know Strawberry Swing was country :surprised:

I love electronica but there's a difference between Aphex Twin and Avicci

The hell?! Strawberry Swing is by no means country

I love electronica but there's a difference between Aphex Twin and Avicci

Electronica covers a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide field

Strawberry swing has influences of afro pop and african music, not country.

SS has a twang to it, in the beginning and that's as much country as I prefer, IMO

edit and it's not country, that is the point

Sarcasm is hard
