LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"

favicon[/url] on coldplay.com? I definitely think that rainbow color scheme will be prominent in the AHFOD era

Yeah! I pointed this out over in the thread about possible cover artwork after someone posted a design that looked somewhat like it. I could definitely see the color wheel theme for AHFOD.

Anchorman said at the time that it's separate to the upcoming album, just a custom theme for the website design but you never know, parts could be linked.

He answered in response to this being the cover art, not to it being related to the overall theme of the era. I'm totally convinced the minimalistic, colorful design is going to be a prevelant part of the AHFOD era. We just have a little taste of it right now.

Yes, his response was based on the favicon, may of misworded that. I think it will be colourful too and that seems certain based on the clues we've heard.

Ahh, you're right. Either way, I'm excited!

Coldplay is mentioned on the September Rolling Stone cover for 'must-hear fall albums'! Announcement incoming?

Wow, that is great !! Weird to see "Coldplay" next to Lana, Macklemore, Keith Richards who have already announced/teased something about their albums... I think they'll really surprise us and pull a Beyoncé this time.

Otherwise I would absolutely LOVE to hear them do that type of song (if they're up to something "you can shuffle your feet to"... why not this ? And they love Arcade Fire !)

It's like every band rock band from the 00's did an album with 80's Electro-pop in it. Everyone is using 80s synths & electro drum sounds now (even Carly Ray Jepsen). Why not Coldplay ? A disco/electro/rock album by them would be great, no ?

I'd totally see their emotional songs combined with disco rythms. But if Stargate do produce AHFOD, I think it's not likely to happen, but who knows... I still dream about Coldplay making disco-prog/experimental-voodoo seven minutes songs :)

:exciting: [emoji1]

What could this mean? Are they actually dropping the album with no warning? I hope not!

I am 70-80 person confident they will.. And why not, it'll be exciting!! Coldplay love to try new things and why not drop it with no hype, they believe it's so good and doesn't require hype. I think they are really proud of their work!

I guess you're right. They won't drop an entire album with no warning if they think it's not good enough.

If they do pull a Beyoncé, then we're to expect a masterpiece [emoji4]

"I live to see the world"

According to the Rolling Stone site, it's out now! http://www.rollingstone.com/latestissue

The magazine is out, right? Not the album.

Yeah that gave me a little heart attack for a second lol.

I got one from atlas2000's post instead [emoji1]

Sorry for the confusion, I was talking about the Magazine!!! :D

Hopefully this album will have some different tracks as well as 'pop' tracks. I'd like to see some more Radiohead inspiration and maybe even a little rock?

Haha! It's ok. The ambulance arrived fast, don't worry [emoji23]

Yeah, I want some rock tracks too. But even if it's a "poppier" album, I will love it. I can't dislike anything by Coldplay [emoji4]

the rollingstone feature is a great clue!excited to see what they have to say. but if this was an exclusive article that revealed info on the new album, it would be a much more prominent article i think. still can't wait to see it.

Same. Notin wrong with anything poppy, cause its Coldplay and they even make the pop element great in their own unique way! :mx:

That's so true!

Coldplay's "pop" is great. They manage to create new styles within the realm of "pop" (and surpass the generic pop we have on the radio nowadays).

"I live to see the world"

don't think it is released until 10th september? anyway, now stereogum is making the same deduction going by the cover. so they don't know anything more than we do either. the irony is, stereogum says coldplay has been teasing the album since last december, when they hardly did. don't we wish that was the case though...

When the album is announced I will directly Pre-Order. Anyway I did this before on another thread but I want to hear you guys opinion on my ideas for the new AHFOD tracklisting:

1. The Idea I Can't Go Inside Of

2. A Head Full Of Dreams

3. Let Loose

4. A Man Flew Me Away From This Place

5. Memories

6. Worlds To Be Explored

7. Cracked Spine

8. Beam

9. Nighttimes

10. Voice From The Underground

11. Broken In Two/The Walk

12. Time To Regenerate

13. The Final Walk To Freedom

14. Back To Basics

Hidden/bonus tracks:

15. Open Up

16. Finding A Path That's Right

17. All Over Again

18. (hidden track) 90 Years

Some of those sound very intriguing. Especially 90 Years, reminds me of 100 Years by Five for Fighting. But ~42 minute rule suggests less tracks/a couple would have to be interludes.

It's weird. Out of all the artists mentioned on the cover, three (Coldplay, Adele and Macklemore) haven't announced released dates. I wonder if they've agreed to reveal them in this RS issue. Also, the only two with release dates (Keith Richards, Lana Del Ray) are both set for September 18th. Makes me wonder if that's possibly the big day/if we're getting the album sooner than we thought in general. Especially with iHeartRadio Festival the next day (first album stop?). All speculation, of course.
