I think after the iheart radio festival.

I decided to list the big 2015 Fall releases.

 

October 2nd: Janet Jackson / Avicii

 

October 9th: Selena Gomez

 

October 16th: Demi Lovato / Pentatonix / Labrinth

 

October 23rd: Carrie Underwood / 5 Seconds Of Summer

 

October 30th:

 

November 6th: Little Mix

 

November 13th: Justin Bieber

 

November 20th & November 27th: 1 Direction, Rihanna, Kanye West (not confirmed yet but very likely)

 

 

It's unlikely that Coldplay will release the same day as these artists in my opinion except for Little Mix. So that leaves us October 30th and November 6th.

And if Adele is indeed releasing her album in November like Rolling Stones said, my guesses are November 6th and November 20th/27th (close to Black Friday)

Great info. Some really big names dropping albums this year (although I've never heard of Little Mix :P ). Some of them might give Coldplay a run for their money, Adele most notably. The Oct. 30th date works pretty well if Coldplay does indeed give us a single around the time of their two gigs later this month.

 

With that in mind, I think that if we don't hear anything new at iHeart or Global Citizen, that probably means we aren't getting anything until early next year. Although Coldplay could outsell most of not all of those names on that list, I doubt they want any more competition than necessary.

Can I make an observation? I have been to many Festivals, Isn't IHeart more of a Showcase than a Festival?

Concerning album releases, this evening I noticed something on Twitter.

 

I'm following the Twitter account of Warner Music Belgium and they were (re)tweeting several photos of a Warner Music Convention that is happening in France.

One of the artists who is there is David Guetta.

I'm guessing that new album releases are presented at such conventions?

 

Now, 1 hour later all those tweets are gone. Probably have been made private?

 

Does anybody know of a planned convention in the UK or US?

I know this is a huge assumption, but if you look at the shirt for the Global Citizen Festival designed by Coldplay, you will notice that a smiley face appears in the bottom left corner of the design above the word ‘Coldplay’. On top of this, I know it should have little relevance, but there is another circle that has an 'x' in it which is the cover art of Ed Sheeran's latest album, the other big artist that is performing. There are also lots of other symbols and shapes so it is probably nothing; I suppose it’s more likely I’m just looking for clues and things to get excited about.

Yeah not sure how I feel about this, but I think the smiley will be a little gaudy, especially if put on that bright blue background.

I think they won't be competing with Adele and 1D so I suppose AHFOD's release would be earlier than that Nov. 27.

The smiley face is not only atrocious, but already has too many associations. Here are just a few examples: Blink 182, Nirvana, Radiohead, Acid House, and Watchmen (graphic novel). Same for the triangles and rainbows they teased with True Love, the T shirt, and the Powers of Ten video. The triangle turning light to color is Pink Floyds and always will be. So yeah. Either option would be infuriating. A title like A Head Full Of Dreams demands something creative, colorful, mysterious and most of all, original!!!

Really, any sort of symbol such as an X or smiley face would kind of be an awful choice, as they've probably been used a dozen times over by various artists throughout the years. Plus, you know, just slapping a symbol on seems kind of lazy.

 

And we couldn't speculate about its meaning :P

Yes it's just a showcase. They'll only have 20min or so to perform.

A single must be out before the festival or it will be a pointless event. They were there just last year

I think it's a possibility! The sooner we get to a release, the more likely it is that we could see some teasing.

I personally think if we get nothing this coming week, then they will just debut the song at the festival. I think that might happen anyway. Either way, we should get to hear something new in just 2 weeks!

They do so to get some time away from each other and the studio so they can return feeling refreshed and possibly full of new ideas to work on.

 

I still think they might preview a song during the festivals but I predict the album will be released late Q1 2016 with a world tour to follow starting in the summer.

That sounds heavenly, tbh. It's better for us to wait a few more months and let them perfect the album. Still, I want some news. Anything. Even a photo of the empty studio!
