Monday....left me broken

No I don't want to get your hopes up, but it's far to early too tell. Poeple in the US aren't even awake yet, so if they're planning something today they might as well wait until almost every major market is awake.

Today* is the day!

Don't let it break your heart.

I think (read: I fear) that AHFOD will sound like a crossover of Miracles, Gone but not F. Cotton, DLIBYH, Rainy Day

I would be okay with this (except maybe the Miracles part) :P In fact, if Coldplay is going in a happy, dancey direction, DLIBYH and Rainy Day are probably two of the few "happy" songs I wouldn't mind them emulating

Just asking: what songs are Coldplay likely to be inspired by for this album would you guess?:):guitarist:

I've said this before. I think the new album will be inspired by 80's new wave, a-ha's hunting high And low. That's just my thought. [emoji5]️

80's new wave would be an interesting direction to take... As long as the whole album is not a clone of something they've done in the past, I will commend them for trying something new.

Yes it would be interesting. New wave music is danceable and you can shuffle your feet to that kind of music like chris said.

so coldplay are back in studio at the bakery. and they apparently said that they'll be in brazil soon!

This gets me excited!

Could just be a generic thing that means absolutely nothing, but it's still exciting!! [emoji2]

If they're still in the studio I'm sure they are just wrapping things up or Chris had a Clocks/Up In Flames moment and they need to finish up one last song really quick. :)

Well it does confirm the date right?

Eleven days! I am so excited. Yes, that tweet could be just a generic byline, but I actually wouldn't doubt the odds things getting "crazy."

I mean, think of the last three era's first openings. Viva suddenly had the boys wearing bizarre handmaid clothing with a strange retro, almost 19th century feel. MX was most surprising. Once again they were wearing original garb but this time lazers and colourful animations and swirls shot across the stage with grafitti everywhere. Even GS, as hushed as it was, had a strange appeal and explosive live moments with Midnight and ASFOS.

So yeah, if they are going to start the new era with iHeart Radio, and if we believe this era to be happy, bright, and upbeat, then I suspect the stage to be wild. Maybe even a return of Xylobands, confetti and lasers? They could easily incorporate Clocks, Fix You, Paradise, and ASFOS before suddenly pumping out the new single with massive theatricality.

Anyone agree?

What if "Get Crazy" or "Crazy" is the title of the new single?

Oh yes I do. Of course I do.

If this is to happen, we can say goodbye to the forum for a few weeks

Found this on the Atlas Project twitter, a young band called The Blink met Jonny and Will inside their studio a few days ago...

The graffiti on the right looks like it could be from the MX era but the pattern looks kind of different (random squares/circles around it). Not sure if it could be related to AHFOD or not?

Whatever that is, it looks a lot like what I think the album artwork will be... bright, colorful, and abstract with a white background.

Omg.. That girl is soooo cute! I know I said that on the other forum but I had to say it! Hope she is a member here!! :D

I was thinking the same! It looks a little too similar to MX's style for it to be for AHFOD, but since we can only see a tiny part of it, the full thing may be a little more unique.

Maybe the splotchy colorfulness gradually transitions into more geometric colorfulness? :P

Some activity! Good signs :) The artwork is interesting. Could be a massive hint.
