LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"

Featured Replies

Thought i'd cheer myself up and comb the previous era's album thread:

Absolutely astonishing how very similar it is to this thread. Parallels include

-wondering if Atlas would be on the album, like us wondering if Amazing Day would be on the album

-Ppl getting confused with date format (6/7 could mean June 7th or July 6th)

-Countless dreams ppl had about the album

-whining about the previous era

-oldplay vs newplay

-.gif use by Batman

-various rumours that turned out to be fake

Like I said things never change. Click on any page in that thread, read for yourself and have a chuckle!

Saw this in town today.. the part at the side caught my eye, presume it is about producers (Stargate).... couldn't get a look as it was in like a plastic bag combo with another mag

U know what i have enough experience of being assaulted by random people who jumps in and claim i disrespect their choice of music,so id just say its your preference.Just hope not all the songs in AFHOD are gonna be songs like ASFOS or VLV...

I know you're not disrecpting my choices.

I reckon they might just do Exeter on the next tour, near to my best friend.

I wouldn't mind at least 1 or 2 like those but probably not. Which I'm ok with :)

Yea one or two of these pop hits are good and gets us in the right mood if in a good sequence.

Midnight had a great sequence.

Guys I have a feeling the new single may be similar to Clocks, and tonight the clocks go back an hour, Chris's Great Grandfather was the inventor of that. What do you guys think?

I have a feeling that the new single is gonna be a combination of Don't Panic,Politik and Square One. [emoji6]

Interesting.

A Sky Full Of Stars Is my number 1 song from the band, (Both forwards and reversed) my number 2 favorite I'd VLV, (Both forwards and reversed) VLV used to be my number 1, but ASFOS Beat it.

TBH, A Sky Full Of Stars is a song ruined by repetitive lyrics. This is why I prefer the Avicii version much more. If the final version included the "Cause in your eyes, There's a spark" verse lyric, I believe it would have been a much powerful song.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that A Head Full of Dreams (the song), will be Hurts Like Heaven-esque.

I guess because of the title's similarity to A Sky Full of Stars, I've been expecting the title track to be as big and uptempo as Hurts Like Heaven or Don't Let It Break Your Heart.

Another wish in my head full of dreams about how the album will turn out is that each band member will have a sort of "showcase" song that they mostly wrote and contains quite a lot of their chosen instrument. For example, Chris would have a beautiful piano ballad a la Amsterdam/The Scientist, Jonny would have a HLH kind of song, Guy would have a Low kind of song where the bass is very pronounced and moves the song along more so than any other instrument, and a song where Will sings and has a heavy, somewhat fast drum part a la White Shadows.

I don't care if lyrics are repetitive, as long as the song is good, I'm okay with it. :D

I think the new song won't be too uptempo like viva or paradise but slower like crest of waves or green eyes, that's what i've heard.

You guys will hear the single in a couple of days. I didn't hear the single but I was given a description of it by someone who did hear it and it's a bit rockier than usual. That's all I can say! [emoji111]️

Well more uptempo than amazing day. [emoji106]

Another little tidbit, the new single is not as upbeat as a sky full of stars.

So slow rock, yet faster than Amazing Day but slower than ASFOS

Yeah, pretty much. It would awesome if it's not what we expect. Plus chris said there won't be a lot of bombast on the album and that you can shuffle your feet to it, which to me sounds different than asfos or paradise.

I think that some tracks of AHFOD could have this style:

[video=youtube;echSkFcpEx4]

^^ See, I'm the opposite. To me, a "shuffle your feet" song evokes a very Paradise/ASFoS/ETiaW type of vibe. Something that would be played in a club populated by lots of drunk college students :P Whereas the rockier type of song that you're describing doesn't really fit that image.

I don't know, nowadays drunk college kids shuffle anything but their "feet". :P That sounds more like a phrase to describe polite, formal college students in the 50's. :laugh3: It's always hard to decipher what exactly the band mean until you hear it.

The song I heard during the video shoot wasn't anything like green eyes or crest of waves.

Strictly in terms of tempo though?

Saket, what did the song sound to you, precisely? As precisely as you can. I believe they put it on repeat during the filming so you must have heard it 100 times
