The X&Y Era was so epic. I wish I could find a complete high-resolution footage of a concert...but everything seems either incomplete or is in 480p maximum...

Songs like Coloratura and Arabesque frustrate me because they prove Coldplay can still make powerful, boundary-pushing and highly creative music, but they actively choose not to 90% of the time.

I'm just hoping there's some sort of resemblance to the X&Y sound in LP9. Moving To Mars is a great example of a non-Oldplay song that's like that. It reminds me of What If. But I also want someth

Yeah it's so weird My Universe and Coloratura are going to be on the same album, I feel like track track 10-12 is going to be very this:

^ Fair enough :P I actually really like the themes in it simply because it's so dark and different from every other Coldplay song in so many ways. If I had my way, I would want Coldplay to make an album full of Yes's just to see what happens

If they'd only if they only say yes...

Yes is fucking awesome! It's so unique! [emoji7][emoji106][emoji106]

Yes is amazing because it's very different from the sound of their comfort zone and yet sound so original, arabic, provoking... and then it's followed by Chinese Sleep Chant that it's one of my favourites

Is there anybody out there who...does not like Yes ? :/

Sorry, I'm gonna hafta be another one who voices love for Chris' deep voice... I've always felt it was under-utilised, and that he uses far too much of his almost-whiney falsetto voice *runs away* :escaping2:

I think Where Is My Boy and Your Love Means Everything with Faultline are one of his best vocal performances... That sparse instrumentation really highlights his voice, particularly the rawness and vulnerability of his earlier years - it made me sit up and take notice of his singing, and personally I would love to hear more of his lower vocal range :)

Sorry I'll repost something I already posted (cuz no one answered me... :( ) but I thought this video would belong to this thread perfectly, but I can't find it anymore. It's been filmed during the viva studio sessions, it's a bit long (like 17 minutes or something) and you can see jonny, brian and will playing with an electronic beat at the beginning, it seemed to be a very interesting one but i lost it... could someone remind me the name/give me the link of the video if you have it please ? thank you !

Chris' voice in Where Is My Boy is porn to my ears :drunk:

To me personally, Chris's voice in Gravity and generally around the AROBTTH and X&Y Eras sound best. Also, I love his falsetto very much - at least pre-GS, where his voice and falsetto have started to deteriorate... :-(

Chris's falsetto is lovely, but my heart is taken by his lower registers :wacky:

EDIT: Okay holy crap I'd never listened to Where is My Boy? before and I don't know why because this is freaking fantastic

^ Yeah, one has Chris singing, the other is pure instrumental... You can find it on YouTube, and the album itself (at least the tracks with singing) is pretty good too! :)

It is fantastic isn't it? That voice just awakens a whole other side of me... Gives me the tingles... :dead: (Up in heaven)

I like it how his voice gets upset and desperate in the end at "Tell me he had to go / Seem I've seen you before / In some kind of a dream" and I love the line "Where was my head when I needed it most ?"

Truly an artistic masterpiece. Magnificent

Bigger Stronger is such an underrated song. It has so much atmosphere and Jonny's guitar work is as usual awesome.
