A Head Full Of Dreams (Title track)

^ The Viva chant was the band's highlight of their "whooa" streak. Everything since then has just never been able to reach that pinnacle

It fits so well there and I believe twas the first time they did it.

It doesn't bother me much on Amazing Day and AHFOD. I think those songs would be better without it though. They do it a tiny bit on Up&Up and it sounds great, actually.

I mean it's a nice tune, Chris has always been great with melody, and it sounds purely rocky which will make ""Oldplayers"" happy but this forced need to sound uplifting and life affirming all the time makes me want to roll my eyes out of my eye sockets.

CHRIS BE LIKE - NO MOM IT'S NOT A PHASE THIS IS ME I'M A SUPER UPLIFTING RAINBOW AND TOTALLY NOT A SOBBY LITTLE BITCH ANYMORE!!!

enough with the gay anthems and oohs and ohs just write a normal song ffs

DISCLAIMER: I like the song

re: the ooh, ahh, ohhhs, etc

I know the band have said they liked to use it because it isn't exactly an english word/phrase. It can be used/sung by ppl all over the world. They were trying to be inclusive I guess.

More recently, I think on top of that they explained that sometime you can't put into word what youre feeling, so they opt for that instead.

Bottom line for me, I just worry its starting to become one of 'those tricks' that I thought the band say they were trying to avoid (in the GS documentary with Ferne Cotton), along with J's one note solo, etc.

I personally think the woahs were very fitting in a head full of dreams. It kinda came out of nowhere in the middle of the song and it was so euphoric which I loved. That being said since this is the day to the night of ghost stories I'll let the life affirming lyrics slide

Mr. Christopher Martin's favorite song in AHFOD!

One highlight: the album opening title track, which Martin is particularly proud of. “It’s my favorite Coldplay song ever. It’s what I always dreamed of singing—now I’m allowed to do it.”

^^ but but but I thought Up & Up was!!

In another article/interview it said that Chris's favourite track in AHFOD was X Marks The Spot! What the hell?!

"Favourite moment", if that makes any difference ^

If any of you guys wants to play this song, I think I figured out the chords for it. Made a little tutorial for this one and Up&Up.

Chris always says every track is his favorite thing. [emoji23] last year he said true love was his favorite song he'd ever written.

Aw thank you! I started playing guitar last summer and then sorta ditched it when school came around, I'm focusing on piano now I guess.

Hey, wish I played piano instead. Feel like it lends itself for more, like electronic, classical, solo performances.. But the chords, at least how I'm approaching them are pretty simple. You can do it :)

And I'm just over here like "I could probably play the triangle"

Aw I'll try, I had set out to buy a left handed guitar and spent money on it- but I'm so busy! Agh. I just finished a piano lesson actually, I should have an exam coming up in spring haha, I've been playing since I was 8 :)

I've not listened to the actual song but I've just heard the snippet and I really like it!

The snippet sound pretty true to the live performance so I'm excited!!

^It is? Maybe my ears are just messed up... Good or bad different?

Well for me it's good

Well for me it's good

Maybe to me the guitar seems a little more prevalent maybe a little more layered... Rock-y ish?

it is exactly overproduced as I expected but I like it ;)

it follows the tradition of Lovers In Japan, HLH, ETIAW and DLIBYH... it's the new coldplay style

Yeah

It reminds me a bit of ETIAW. Anybody else?
