Does anyone know any band or song that is similar to coldplay's style of music?

  6. For his next album a French artist (Pascal Obispo) was strongly inspired by Viva la Vida ! He had already strongly copied another artist and we can wonder where is the interest of the initiative ! Because his compositions are rather good on the base ! In France that begins to make noise ! :D Le drapeau By Pascal Obispo : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpUnoOAiGtI]YouTube - Pascal Obispo (Captain Samouraï Flower) - Le Drapeau[/ame] And a French Humorist make the comparison : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THLZ1ImovhU&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - AZAP : Où Pascal Obispo trouve-t-il son inspiration ?[/ame]

  11. Phil Harvey is a member of Coldplay, one of the most popular rock bands on the planet. He also is an aspiring psychologist and a volunteer for a small mental health charity in London. Harvey talks exclusively to Adam James Six years ago an application to do voluntary work dropped through the letterbox of Upbeat, a small community mental health project in Camden, London But this request was different. It was from someone called Phil Harvey. And he just happened to be a member of Coldplay, one of the planet’s most popular rock bands. Harvey’s wish to do voluntary work was not part of some rocker’s creepy PR strategy. It was an application from a man recovering from…

Yes, there have been multiple posts on this already, but none of them have what I am looking for. Yes I have tried the only youtube "how to's" there are and I have the piano book but it just doesn't sound the same. Can someone put a video tutorial on how to play the Hardest Part acoustic-piano version that Chris Martin plays live... it is just too beautiful and I have to learn it but none of the tutorials out there at the moment or the chord book sound close enough... Thank you a-bunches :D

  16. Have you ever loved a song to the point of ridiculousness but no matter how hard you try, you just can’t understand the lyrics? What was the artist thinking when writing your favorite tune? More Than Words, a weekly column at Examiner (dot com), helps to delve a little deeper… Yellow, Coldplay (Parachutes, 2000) During a concert in Massachusetts, Coldplay lead vocalist Chris Martin discussed the song “Yellow” - about how it introduced the band to the US, how great it was to get such a positive response, and then he said "there's been a lot of discussion about the meaning of the name of this song.....truthfully, I happened to be looking at the Yellow Pages while writ…

  18. Remember the twitter guy who said that he prefer to interview Chris over Guy? Well this is the interview: Coldplay Plays May 23 At Comcast Theatre In Hartford By ERIC R. DANTON | The Hartford Courant May 22, 2009 Coldplay Coldplay: from left, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion, singer-keyboardist Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland (JAY L. CLENDENIN / LOS ANGELES TIMES / June 2, 2008) Playing in huge arenas before thousands of people has been known to alienate musicians seeking to establish a connection with their audiences, but Coldplay has taken steps to keep things on a human scale. "Our relationship with the audience is really…

Now its all calmed down a bit around these parts I think its time to assess the situation. The poll is confidential, and its been made out of interest to see what percentage of coldplaying.com members have downbloaded the leak. I'm thinking about 80% of votes will be people who have downloaded a leak, so lets find out for certain! And also, mention in your post if this leak has helped you change your mind about buying the album (either because its better than you thought or possibly worse)

  20. The legendary band, Rage Against The Machine, have reportedly accused Coldplay of stealing a large portion from their hit song 'Killing in The Name'. They reported that the Coldplay song 'Postcards From Far Away', from the Prospekts March EP, contained large chunks of material from their hit song. Martin denies this accusation however, although it is clear that almost the entirety of 'Killing in The Name' was copied by the English group, and tranfigured by Martin into an 'unoriginal' piano version. You can hear each track here: Postcards From Far Away - [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbI-B-hffbM]YouTube - Postcards from far away - Coldplay [NEW ALBUM PRO…

  21. From the new interview with Chris on Coldplay.com... Now, Coldplay's live album is called LeftRightLeftRightLeft. Exactly. That was also the name of a track touted for the Viva album. It was indeed. In fact, it was also what Viva La Vida was going to be called, before we found the title Viva La Vida. With the live album, we were going to go for the world record of the longest album title in history by making LeftRightLeftRightLeft go all the way around the CD, so that it never ended. But we took so much shit for how long Viva La Vida's title was, we thought maybe a never-ending title might be a little much. So we opted for five words as just one word. Does the …

Was working in Camden today near Kentish town. On my way home came to a set of traffic lights and noticed a pub being painted, and straight away recognised the name but it didnt know where from. Then got it, was the "Bull and Gate "where Coldplay performed many years ago. Tried to take a picture but lights changed before i had a chance. Sorry to post, put a big smile on my face because im sad like that. Anyone interested in going there Kentish town tube station is a few hundred yards away.

It's old news now, but on Wednesday morning Chris did a phone-in on radio station DC101. Chris Martin of Coldplay gave us a call, intending to talk about Thursday’s show at Nissan Pavilion, but ended up also chatting about everything from plagiarism to the new music doc ‘Anvil! The Story of Anvil'. http://www.eitmonline.com/home.html SCOOP: Chris mentions Moses by name without anyone even asking about his kids and hints about coming to South America!:stunned::shocked2:

  25. The New York Times music critic Jon Pareles has called them "the most insufferable band of the decade." And indeed Coldplay has its detractors, who stand right alongside its legions of dedicated fans. But they don't really matter -- the band has always beaten them to the punch in the self-critical department. Bassist Guy Berryman once told Rolling Stone, "Most of the time, we just feel like losers." And as the band was accepting one of its most recent Grammys, singer Chris Martin wryly dubbed their music "limestone rock." Feeling insecure, Berryman says, isn't paralyzing but is instead motivational. "That's the feeling which makes us keep on trying to go into …
