Coldplay’s free download live album starts with the sound of the band bragging about their drug-fuelled orgies moments before they stagger onstage, the dwarve drug runners, the nymphos and the goat they sacrified to Satan, which from the sound of it they’re still covered in. It finished with them doing a thirty-second thrash metal version of ‘Yellow’ and the band collapsing into the drum-kit, as it ends in a shower of white noise and terrifying feedback not heard since Suicide’s ‘23 Minutes Over Brussels.’ Of course it doesn’t, stupid. What were you expecting? It’s probably fair to say that Coldplay are perhaps the band that really truly did become the next U2. Fro…

Despite being the adored, much analyzed and fantasized about lead singer of one of the planet's biggest rock bands, Chris Martin of Coldplay is practical, even humble about his role, writes the Miami Herald. Sitting on the floor of a rented house in Los Angeles, enjoying the California sunshine and the taste of the strawberry he's just finished, Martin is deliberately and charmingly low-key. ''It just comes from pure gratitude at being given this job, particularly in a period of time when music is hard to be employed by,'' Martin says of the free CDs that Coldplay is giving to concert-goers on their U.S. tour, which kicks off at West Palm Beach's Cruzan Amphitheater Fr…

Remember that video awhile ago on youtube that pretty much started the whole COLDPLAY COPIED JOE WHAT EVER THE HELL HIS NAME IS. Well, in that video they played Viva la Vida and then If I Could Fly... Well when they played Viva la Vida Chris sung "I use to rule the world" and it sounds totally different from the version that we are all use to. Horrible time to ask this question now since the video was removed awhile ago but.. I dunno. Hopefully somebody saw that video too or can tell me where I can get this alternate version of Viva

I dont know if anyone noticed. But there is a guitar break near the end of "lovers in Japan" that sounds very similar to the guitar break in katy perry's "Hot N Cold" Maybe its just me... but did anyone else notice??? Here I posted the links to the songs Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" mark[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-LhyAVzDBI]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-LhyAVzDBI[/ame] -at the 2:40 mark Coldplay's "Lovers in Japan" [ame= ] [/ame] -at the 2:56 mark

Warm weather brings Coldplay Band will hand out free CDs at Lakewood Amphitheater Sunday Coldplay frontman Chris Martin doesn’t know if Michael Stipe will be on hand when Coldplay returns to Atlanta Sunday, but having R.E.M.’s lead singer sit in with Martin’s band back in 2005 was “a front man’s wet dream,” Martin says. One might imagine the admiration goes both ways, considering the triple-Grammy-winning, multimillion-selling success of Coldplay’s latest album, “Viva La Vida.” The extended tour that began almost a year ago to support the album brought Coldplay to Atlanta last November, and brings them back to perform at the Lake…

I went to their VLV show, and loved it. But does anyone think it's too stagey? It's a thought that's been at the back of my head for a while. It's almost like a pop concert with a huge production behind them - butterflies, lasers, balloons, giant video wall, stage a/b/c.... Chris even moves around the stage the same way for most of the shows. It's a great show and possibly the most fun I've had, but still....Would u prefer their 'older' type shows? Without the fluff, and just straightforward (soft) rock gig? Do the props distract from the music? I was comparing Coldplay's older live stuff & other bands and kinda think so.

Two things I REALLYREALLY uberly need to get off my chest. No.1 VIVA LA VIDA what a fantastic song.. not one of Coldplay's best in my opinion but I really think it's pure genious. So you are probably wondering where is my rant.. well here it goes: I realised that once Viva la vida came out everyone had taken a liking to it. It being a comeback song to get their old fans back and also a sort of breakthrough scene into real mainstream. The thing I hate are the people who prance around saying how much they love Coldplay when really they only started liking them literally yesterday. I just find it ridiculous how these people think they know everything about coldplay. Ha…

I apologize if this has already been posted and somehow I missed it. Coldplay is having a contest for a trip to see one of their shows in England this December!!! Basically, they are looking for a fan-made video for Lost? (the piano version of the song) and the winner gets "the best seats in the house" and backstage passes and hotel accomodations and everything!!! Here's the link: http://www.coldplay.com/lostcontest.html This sounds so fantastic.... I need to come up with something good! :D Edit: Mods, go ahead and move this to the Live section if you want... I realized a bit too late that maybe this would be more appropriate there. :)

Okay, so I've yet to attend a Coldplay show that I didn't already have a pretty good idea what the setlist would be, based on previous shows. With the next leg of the tour starting in a few days, and my show coming up in a little less than a month, should I keep up with the changes in the setlist or go to the show oblivious to the changes they've made to the setlist since last summer?? In other words, do you think it's more fun to go to a show knowing what to expect, or not know and be surprised??

Hello ^^ The other night i was laying in bed and thinking about random stuff. And then i cam to think about the VLVADAAHF, and theres songs like about ´´death´´? So i kept thinking about it, is there someone that they know that is sick? Or are one of them sick? Like, Chris walked out at an interview, because the interviewer said something about Chris faciantion of death ( i don´t know if that was what he said  ). ´´I Don´t want to battle from beginning to end ´´ ´´I don´t wanna follow death and all of his friends´´ ´´You thought you might be a ghost´´ ´´One day death is gonna conquer me ´´ ´´If sweet death should ever conquer me´´ *cringe* I´m …

does anyone have any quotes from any of the members talking about being parenthood? my sisters and I are filling out our mothers day card right now, and we thought it would be a cute idea to put in a quote from Chris, Jonny, Guy, or Will.... or maybe all of them. I feel like I've heard them talk about being parents so many times, but I can't seem to remember when or where.

I searched a good songbook in the internet and have found this: http://cgi.ebay.de/COLDPLAY-Alle-Songs-68-Titel-Gitarre-Chord-Songbook_W0QQitemZ200340229503QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSach_Fachb%C3%BCcher?hash=item200340229503&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1229%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 Does anyone of you have this songbook? Are the lyrics correct? The chords are not so important to me, I just wanted to have all of the lyrics in one book, to learn them a bit better for the concert in August :). It's very interesting because there are also some B-Side Tracks in it. If it's not good, does anyone of you has a bette…
