After 15-plus years as the frontman of Scottish rockers Travis, Fran Healy is making his solo debut with 'Wreckorder,' due out in North America October 5. While it's nerve-wracking for many artists to step out on their own, Healy is very calm about having his name alone on the marquees. "This album, compared to all the other albums, I must be honest, is exactly the same," he tells Spinner. "All the Travis albums are my songs, so each album is just a collection of songs. The songs with me are always so personal I always looked at it like that." Every time a band member goes solo, there are the requisite questions about the group potentially breaking up or bandmates not …

I smiled when I saw the amount of threads on the love of jonny and chris wishing they weren't married so I'm quite sure that this is a predominantly woman/girl based forum dedicated to fantasies of the musicians... Are there any on here that would say you wished it was you?? Well you being chased by the many ladies on here.. I'm looking for like minded musicians that appreciate the music for its creativity??Any, Muso's stand up..Want to talk on the credibilty of the hit making ability and maybe share something you've created. I think there are more musicians out there that have been influenced by coldplay than we have been lead to be believe. Hope to hear fro…

Big Talk (2011) The Killers' Ronnie Vannucci Jr. will be releasing a solo effort later this year although no exact date has been set. As of now here is an official website (still in progress) that you can take a look at below: bigtalkmusic.com It's a bit unclear (to me at least) if Big Talk is the name of the band itself, the album or both.

  13. Features Jack White, Norah Jones and Original Musicians from Classic Ennio Morricone Scores In a digital age where music is produced, consumed and discarded in the blink of an eye, Rome is brilliant anachronism: a defiantly analog album that took five years to perfect and has been made to pass the test of time. Brian Burton and Daniele Luppi met in Los Angeles in 2004. Burton, better known as Danger Mouse, had just created a media storm with The Grey Album, begun work on Gorillaz Demon Days opus and was also embarking on his hugely successful Gnarls Barkley project with Cee-Lo Green. Luppi, a composer from Italy, was receiving acclaim for his album An Italian Stor…

Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams and Martina McBride; Aretha Franklin Tribute It's not easy to sing Aretha Franklin songs. Few people can really belt it out as well as the grandmother of soul, and no one can do it better. But these vocal sirens gave a great performance. Sure, it felt a little bit like a VH1 Divas special, with each performer introduced before her song segment. But Christina, Jennifer, Florence, Yolanda and Martina put on a good show. Christina even remembered the words! Grade: B Lady Gaga, 'Born This Way The egg and shoulder horns were weird. The dancing was good. And her ponytail whipping might even beat out Willow…

  16. Hi guys, Hope this is the good area to create this topic, it is probably not, but hey, I'm new here ;) Basically, I'm addicted to Coldplay 2nd album, I just can't stop listening to it. I'm looking for other bands who might make me feel as AROBTTH does... So if any of you are in love with this album, I would love you to tell me what other bands you crave! Just throw me names and/or albums/songs and hopefully you'll make me discover a new drug! I have A LOT of music on my computer, so it might be be hard to find a band that I don't already know, but I'm sure there are plenty of bands out there that I haven't heard about. Thanks a lot! What are the darkest songs you've listened to? I started this thread because I was listening to 'I've Been Losing You' by a-ha and was fascinated by the lyrics only to find after further investigation that it was about someone singing/talking to a corpse after a post domestic violence scene. That said - it's some hell of a song! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvSTyZmpivk]YouTube - a-ha - I've Been Losing You[/ame] What songs have you listened to which you find dark?

If you liked Placebo and knew the drummer left the band in 2007, you'd know he is on his own project called Love Amongst Ruin. Their self titled album is out since 13th september, and they are currently touring. He plays guitar and sings. A pretty good 3 piece blues rock british band. I saw them live yesterday and although venue wasn't the best they connected with the crowd pretty well and kept energetic all the time. Drummer did an awesome 10 mins improvisation solo, and then they did another with the whole band near the end. Gig lasted a good 2 hours. Bassist is quite funny, and Jason so energetic. Awesome when bass and guitar 'talked'. They've been compared to Led Zeppelin and Jason's riffs to Hendrix. Though yesterday near the end he played with a bow as Jónsi :awesome: http://www.the-brew.net/ [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aIHf1Tlw4c]YouTube - The Brew's The Joker v…

Rating system is as follows: 1 means you think it'll be your favorite Radiohead LP. 8 means you think it will less good (I have trouble using the word 'worse' when talking about Radiohead) than Pablo Honey.
