http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=ayrpPV6nJ4Qk&refer=worldwide Aug. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Now that Russia has humiliated Georgia with a punishing military offensive, it may shift its attention to reining in pro-Western Ukraine, another American ally in the former Soviet Union. Moving to counter any threat, Ukraine President Viktor Yushchenko today restricted the movement of Russia's Black Sea fleet, based in the port of Sevastopol, citing national security. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's first order of business in confronting Ukraine likely will be to try to thwart its bid to join the North Atlantic T…

Wednesday, Aug 13, 2008 9:15 pm EDT Michael Phelps eats 12,000 calories per day By Chris Chase After he retires from swimming, Michael Phelps might want to try his hand at competitive eating. The Olympic star recently said he consumes 12,000 calories per day, or 9,500 more than the FDA recommends for an active, young male. Phelps has to keep his intake up in order to compensate for all the calories he burns during the 30-hours per week he spends in training. He told NBC that an average day might have the following me…

A lonely vulture who thought he was human has finally found true love, his keepers have revealed. Barry the American black vulture, has been reared by humans since his birth 10 years ago and seemed unable to associate with his own kind. Staff at Kirkleatham Owl Centre near Redcar were worried when Barry began chasing visitors in the hope of mating. But now they are delighted he has finally been matched with a female shipped in from eastern Europe. The centre's Craig Wesson said: "Contrary to popular belief, vultures are sensitive creatures, and Barry is particularly highly-strung. "He was hand-reared and associated more with people than birds. "In …

This is horrible, I can see Russia mounting a full invasion of Georgia now. TSKHINVALI, Georgia - Georgian troops launched a major military offensive Friday to regain control over the breakaway province of South Ossetia, prompting a furious response from Russia — which vowed retaliation and sent a column of tanks into the region. ADVERTISEMENT More than two dozen were reported dead in the worst outbreak of hostilities since the province won defacto independence in a war that ended in 1992. Ten Russian peacekeepers were killed and 30 wounded when their barracks were hit in Georgian shelling, said Russian Ground Forces spokesman Col. Igor Konashenkov. Russia …

They're weird, vulgar and men don't even like them. So why do 26,000 British women a year disfigure themselves with breast enlargements? By Bethan Cole Last updated at 10:30 PM on 31st July 2008 Comments (0) Add to My Stories The first time I saw a pair of surgically enhanced breasts with my own eyes was around eight or nine years ago, in the changing rooms of the gym at a private members' club where a friend had taken me for a workout. I remember it distinctly. I was getting undressed, nervously, as I don't like disrobing in front of strangers; and there was another woman, a few feet away, topless, with oddly firm, projectile breasts pointing s…

A general mobilization of the reservists of Georgia was announced by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili on the morning of August 8, the Novosti-Gruzia information agency reports. It had been reported in the media earlier that citizens were assembling in Lokomotiv Stadium in Tbilisi, but Georgian authorities have not yet confirmed that a mobilization is underway. The news agency noted that more than 100,000 people between the ages of 25 and 45 have been trained as reservists in Georgia in recent years. A large-scale military conflict began in the unrecognized republic of South Ossetia on the night of August 7. By morning, Georgian units had captured Znaur District of…

Yes I know most of you hate Perez (if not all of you ) but every once in a while he may post something laugh-worthy or not too insulting and since most of you never visit the site just thought I'd post some highlights here :D (All quoted straight from Perezhilton.com) Uhmmm…. Can someone pretty please tell him how to properly display the flag to photographers??? George W. Bushcontinues to embarrass us in Beijing. The commander in chief has been catching many of the matches, especially the swimming and Michael Phelps. Thankfully, W.'s daughter corrected him and he eventually turned the flag around! I've got a problem to put a ringtone from my computer to my mobile phone. I have put "Clocks" and there is no problem. The sound is good, but i've put "Map of the Problematics" (the same way, from my comp to my mobile phone with my Nokia cable) and there's a "couac" while playing the song. It's not nice, you can imagine. It's weird because when i listen to this song on my computer the song is quite good whereas if i copy and past on my mobile phone (thanks to my mobile phone cable) there's a noise that i haven't with "Clocks" nor "Viva la Vida". Does anybody has the same problem and how did you fix it? Thank's in advance.

The gym that has been built in Steven Gerrard’s back garden is so big that it has a different postcode from that of the footballer’s house. The £350,000, two-storey copper-and-glass building stands on the site of a former bungalow in the Liverpool captain’s garden in the Merseyside suburb of Freshfield. Some of the player’s neighbours argue that the modern, flat-roofed design is out of place among the properties that characterise the area. Cecil Crossley, who lives nearby, said: “I cannot begin to understand why anyone would want to build an eyesore like this in their back garden. It is not in keeping with the properties in this area: it’s like building an Asda su…

NORTHWOOD, Ohio (WTOL) - Sadly, the one-of-a-kind cat from Wood County, died Wednesday evening. The kitten was born last week to a shop cat at Woodville Auto Finance in Northwood. It had four eyes and two noses, but only one mouth. The mother cat didn't seem to mind the abnormality, nursing and caring for it like any other kitten. No word on what may have caused its death i found it today on the newspaper ....shoking :o poor thing:cry:
