Why? Wouldn't you rather have 11 completely new songs on LP6 than 10 new songs + one we've already heard? And none of us have even heard Atlas yet, for all we know it could sound terrible :P

 If you ask me: I would go for 11 completely new songs PLUS the Atlas ''bonus".

Atlas will not dissapoint us. I just know! :-)

Well that's always an option I guess  But I wouldn't see the point in them releasing an already-heard song along with the album

Are you from the future? :stunned:

No. Absolutely not. You don't just throw a song intended for a movie into an album.

It would be like throwing Christmas Lights into MX. It makes no sense at all.

I'm not saying what they mention isn't true but these are not the websites I was talking about. It's likely that one vague website mentioned it and then loads of other websites like this just copy past it.

Atlas is a standalone song made for The Hunger Games, and nothing else. Just like with Christmas Lights in 2010, it will not see the light of day on a Coldplay album.

So, some have already heard Atlas now and those who haven't, will hear it very soon. Hearing Atlas is like a little rest stop during wait for LP6. Like most of you have already said Atlas sounds like a mix of all the different sounds Coldplay has ever produced.

Even if some don't think, that Atlas as a song is really great, you should pay attention how masterful is the production side of that song. I listened to song 5 times trying to judge the production, I just can’t find any weak points. Tell me if you can? Thinking about, how Chris comes up with little piece with piano and then they produce something like that out of it, makes me really proud of the band.

Of course, we are yet to see if Atlas was the hint of the sound of the next album, but I don’t see no reason why not. I think we should not compare it to Christmas Lights release. For me sound of Atlas seems too polished to be just one off thing and it must have influenced other songs they are creating at the moment. If they have produced something like Atlas now, they must know, that this is when they sound at their best. Now it’s really just up to Chris to write the best songs he can, because band with production like that can produce anything...

One of the most important questions then is, who is leading their production this time, or do they think that they have learnt all they can during creating last albums and try how it works out by their own with the guys that have been there from the start (Dan Green and Rik Simpson)?

It would be very interesting to hear some new interviews from the band members at the moment.

And again, can anybody say it to Chris: „Just please write the best f***ing songs you can!“
