So, on the interviews nothing about the album was added, right?

And which tracklist os thw correct one? Because I've seen two versions - one with 9 tracks and other with 11 - both in coldplay.com.

I just listened to AOAL calmly and it's definitely not what I expected. I love it, but I was hoping for a bigger boom after Will's drums. It's funky, it takes me to the 70s and it's great to dance to (I've tried it). The ending part with the woos is AMAZING. I got chills there, to be honest! Well, that's just my opinion.

For the last few days, this forum has been moving so quickly that I can barely keep up lol.

So I had a listen to "adventure of a Lifetime" just then, and my first impression came as soon as I heard the guitar notes. I thought "what is this?!? Instruments?!?" And then the drum came in and I felt like it was about to get heavy but it slowed right down into a disco type rhythm. I kind of felt this was a little bit Bee Gees, and I'm not sure if I'm a big fan of it. I heard someone on here say that Coldplay are artistically dead. I wouldn't agree with that but I understand what they are saying. Coldplay have it within their capabilities to produce a major hit, but there not creating songs that are "unique" anymore. Songs like clocks and viva, no one had heard stuff like that before. One was a piano driven rock song and the other was just classically driven rock. This album coming up reminds me of MX significantly. In fact adventure of a lifetime is reminiscent of hurts like heaven if you think about it. This proves Coldplay haven't spent time being innovative when they would rather write mediocre material, Coldplay need a lot of time to work out who they are and come back with a bang, they need a massive break to be honest.

Noel has always been my #1 collaboration choice for Coldplay, but I never actually thought they would do something like that holy cow i am so excited give it to me now

Maybe the rest of the album is unique. AOAL is for me better than almost everything on MX. Chris vocals are strong, and the music its not that cheesy boring pop from MX. I still think that album will be a mix of everything of them. It is wrong to judge the album from just 1 song, mainly if that song is a single made for mainstream audience. But I undestand you, I agree in parts

I really like the new style, the track is very powerfull. It's not their best, but it's a really good effort.

I think the album will be better than ghost stories, but I'd class it in the same category as MX but there's a lot to go under the bridge before we can define whether it was better or not. I think you can make a distant judgement of the one song, I really feel like this album will be disco influenced, and from the album cover there seems to be a bit of a psychedelic feeling but Coldplay would never do that. Just imagine Coldplay doing something that tame impala would normally do, how strange would that be.

Amazing day is nothing disco. And cmon I get you, Violet hill was really good for a lead single for viva. But the viva itself isn't. Sky full of star is not too. And everyteardrop for me its one of the worst songs on MX. What if AOAL is the SFOS of this album. My point is the color spectrum of this album maybe is a clue that says the album can sound like a mix of everything. Lets just wait and see.

I can't wait to hear the "rocket powered" Hymn for the Weekend!

 

Right now I'm just wishing my neighbor would leave, so I can listen to AOAL on FULL VOLUME! :D It will probably not be my favorite off AHFOD, but it's pretty good imo.

I think I am going to change the chanel whenever I hear AOAL on the radio :dozey:

10 more new songs to come. So there is still hope on a good album. :dance:

I'm an Oldplayer and while the song is very "clean sounding" I immediately like it better than most of the songs on GS.

which twitter feed are u looking at? most of the tweets ive seen are very much positive and most of the comments in forums on the internet (ATRL.net, reddit, kanyetothe, etc.,) are extremely positive.

Hmm, so I've listened to the song about 4-5 times now (Went to bed after the release) and the Stargate influence is starting to leak into me. I can already tell it's similar to some other pop songs.

What ever happened to the Indian influences? We must be getting a different video for this single because why film a video in India for AOAL?

 

I think the video filmed in India was for the song A Head Full of Dreams. It could be the second single but who knows?

I'm one of those fans who thinks they should do more GS than MX and it's a shame that they are going to do more MX just to please the masses. (Yes, I"m an Oldplayer)

 

Though I don't dislike AOAL I don't like it either and I hope the whole album isn't like this. MX had its moments that made it NOT the worst album out there so if they do follow the footsteps of MX, I've got hope that AHFOD will have it's moments and then some as well (and going by the tracklisting, I think it will).

 

Also, absolutely HATE the album title. I was still holding onto hope it was a joke. Bleah.
