Is there anybody who hears "Famous Old Painters" in Daddy?

Like EVERYONE who listened to it!

Trouble in Town gives me this Pink Floyd vibe, especially Jonny's guitar at the end.

Church is straight from AHFOD, its one of my least favorites on this album.

Church, it's actually one of my favourites off the album at the moment.

Sounds very alternative to my ears.....

Yes!!! I heard it too!

Also, the combination of the drums and the melody (especially on the chorus) it's reminiscent of "Tomorrow Never Knows" by The Beatles.

And I was trying to think what the drums remind me! You made Church much better for me!

The more I listen the more I love it.

Brave, Raw, Emotional. I take my hat of to them, because I didn’t think after the last few years they had an album like this in them.

There’s plenty to like on here for all types of Coldplay fans because they’ve taken their best elements and wrapped it up in one beautiful package.

I guess the old Coldplay were not “dead and buried” like I thought. They were just in a blissful sleep waiting to come back again.

Sunrise, Daddy and When I Need a Friend are my three favorites.

The more I listen the more I love it.

Man, this sounds so promising!

Here's my review

Sunrise

A truly magnificent classical instrumental. David Rossi at his finest.

Church

I'm 50 50 on this! Elements of it I love but parts that are drowned out by Stargate

Trouble in Town

Lyrically one of the best off the album and definitely a rocker!

Broken

Gospel sensation unlike anything the boys have released

Daddy

My favorite track off the whole album simple piano reminds me a lot of O and Famous Old Painters

WOTW POTP

Simple short acoustic diddy leading into Arabesque street noise

When I Need A Friend

This one is a revelation and has so much spirit and soul to it

Guns

Political ring to it and very fast paced acoustic just like the snippet

Eko

Very beautiful song reminds me of Ink for some reason

Cry Cry Cry

I like it but is it me or does Chris sound auto tune sometimes idk what it is

Old Friends

An absolute acoustic masterpiece. Treasure the friends you have.

Bani Adam

Beautiful piano instrumental leading to a Kaleidoscopesue end

Champion of the World

This is my jam! Could be put right between the AROBTTH and X&Y era.

Oldplayers will adore it.

little teaser for people who haven't heard anything yet

Am I too late to the party? Not posting on CPing since 2016 I think... :D

I'm writing only to say that this is easily the best album they put out in ten years. Clearly not a masterpiece, but it is a solid effort generally speaking. Quite raw and not so cohesive at times, but I can say it is honest and not overproduced.

I'll be doing track by track reviews when I'll get the album listened more than now, but my favourite moments are the ones where they try to get out of their comfort zone.

If anyone wants to know where the sample from Trouble in Town is from:

Welcome back Brother!

Omg I am currently listening to the album and loving it!! I felt so excited that I even checked my heartbeat and it was around 150 haha:joy: I can't wait to finish it and then read what you guys think about it! Be back in about half an hour:yum

Ok, just finished the 1st listening

And i don't fucking know what to say.

For the Oldplayers, did this album satisfy you??

Yes. If you like music and harmonies, you'll like Everyday Life. It's their most interesting record musically speaking since MX ( or VLV, don't know yet )

But it is Musical. It's the first thing i can say after listening to it.

Church's chorus reminds me of U2's Beautiful Day.

For the Oldplayers, did this album satisfy you??

I wish I could forget it all and listen for the first time again.

Took me about an hour after to pick my jaw up from the floor.

If it wasn’t for Chris’ vocals I would have seriously doubted I was listening to an album released by Coldplay in 2019.

Eko is SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL, it actually took my breath away when I played it for the second time :sob:

Eko is Everyday Life's U.F.O

It killed me

Here's a good one

What's your favorite lyric off the album?
