My fave song of hers right now is One Last Time. When I first heard it on iTunes, I fell in love with it. My other fave song right now from her CD is My Everything because it reminds of my grandpa wo passed away around this time last year.

A six-piece indie folk / indie pop band from Iceland whose debut album My Head is an Animal was just released a few weeks ago (though released last year in Iceland). Have been listening to it constantly since then. Absolutely love it! [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghb6eDopW8I&feature=fvst[/ame] [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gEVaniPOmU&feature=branded[/ame] Anyone else a fan? And if there is already a thread for this, please merge where appropriate. :)

It's called Jump From A Tower and it goes something like this: When you finally make it up and get thrown down Everything's there but there's still no sound When you get back up there completely broken There's no reason for you to live anymore And your entire world is completely done there's nothing left, and you've got noone then you know there's only one option left and that was just before you commited your theft You were the last one there for me You listened to all that I had to say And finally I realized that you were the only one who believed in me When all is lost and all is gone there's no hope for me all I want to do is drown in the sea t…

Anyone knows him? Anyone likes him? Am I the only one? He's a young songwriter from Bergen, Norway. He wrote his first song at 14 and was playing acoustic nights in a Bergen club when he wasn’t even legally old enough even to be in there. By the time he was 17, he was signed to Virgin Records. He released his debut album 'Faces down' on 2001 and his 2nd album, 'Two way monologue', is out now (except in UK) His music is calm, relax, intimate, very nice and sweet, pop style, but not in a boring way... I heard about him a while ago but I got his 1st album two weeks ago and I like it a lot!! I think he's very talented and he deserves more success... I recommen…

Great band! Just discovered them. They are formed by Nick McCabe and Simon Jones (two members from The Verve), Davide Rossi who we already know for working with Coldplay, singer Amelia Tucker and drummer Mig Schillace. They released their first album almost one year ago, called "New Shores". They released two singles and two videos, "Here So Rain" and "Heart First". The songs are longer in the album version. After becoming a fan of a musician or a band that is still active, the next album they put out is, I think, very personally significant. It's a big landmark: it's the first time you're actively anticipating music and it's the first time you can make your own predictions on the direction it may take, whilst also heaping tonnes of pressure on the artist. Your interpretation of what they release is then a little different from what it would be if you'd stumble across something already produced without your own anticipation colouring your reaction. A few examples for me: Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest Started listening to them during a quiet period of theirs a…

Here's a new artist we think you should know about! He's currently on tour and will be playing stadiums with John Mayer and Sheryl Crow from late August thru September 10th. Mat Kearney draws comparisons to John Mayer, but adds a pleasant twist with deep lyrics, a little hip-hop flavor and Coldplay-esq type vocals. Many are calling it one of the top releases of the year thus far, so keep an eye out for him and check out http://www.matkearney.com for more info on tour dates, news, and music! One Grand Prize winner will receive a custom surfboard from Rusty! Plus, a DVS Shoes Beach Bag (including backpack, sandals and T-Shirt), a pair of eyewear from Arnette, a year…

Dont know if this is the right place for this, apologies in advance. Anyway, I wanted to create a place where people who like to write their own lyrics can share their lyrics for feedback and/or help. Anyone up for this?

The Script are an Irish trio (Danny: vocals, Mark: guitar, Glen: drums) whose music boasts the kind of artful twists sure to turn all preconceptions on their head. This is a whole new brand of Celtic Soul, blending hip hop lyrical flow with pop melodiousness, state-of-the-art R'n'B production with anthemic rock dynamics, classic song construction with gritty contemporary narratives. It's got all the emotion and passion you would expect from across the Irish sea, but it is glittering in its modernity, universal in its singalong addictiveness and global in its syncopation, music for the feet, heart and head. Think U2 versus Timbaland, Van Morrison remixed by Teddy Ril…

Have you ever heard of James Bay? He's an incredibly talented musician from England. He was notably spotted by Burberry, who played his song Move Together for their Spring Summer 14 fashion show. He's supported Kodaline on 2 tours, and also Tom Odell, John Newman... I first saw him last November in London when he was supporting Kodaline and omg I had never heard of him and you could see everyone was blown away. He's really talented and amazing live, he definitely knows how to get the crowd to like him even more! He's only got a couple of EPs out, The Dark of the Morning and Demos EP (available for free on soundcloud :awesome: :awesome: ). He's got another EP that sh…

Hi, I just completed my debut album under my new artist name Forecast For Rain. Recorded at home with just an M-Box 2, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, midi keyboard and a mix of FL Studio and Studio One with various plugins. I have made lots of albums since 2007 but this is the main one now. Started using FL Studio when into Eminem in 2005, picked up a guitar after being influenced by Arctic Monkeys and lately Bob Dylan. Was compared to Daniel Johnston and had a song covered by a UK band who supported The Rolling Stones last year. Have now gone under a new name Forecast For Rain and for the first time am charging money for my music, new year, new start. I took all my …

Spotify, YouTube or both. Anything music you want. When people are bored and wanting to get into new things they can come in here and pick a playlist. Like a low key, shorter version of the mixtape thread, just not as cool. People can feel free to discuss the playlists, marks out of ten, or give no feedback at all. If we limit it to say, between 3 and 8 songs (not a strict rule or anything, just a guideline) then it can be a nice little musical bubble you can offer to others.

I figured to make a thread that has a list of all coldplaying members that have music for everyone else to hear. So post your links to your music (myspace, purevolume, file sharing, youtube, etc) and then I'll add you to this first post to make it easy for people to find it. the_gloaming09 http://www.myspace.com/gonesmusic http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9L4W3JR5 (Free EP Download) http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=0D28734D33C45709 Italian Plastic Electronic stuff: http://www.myspace.com/singingyoutoshipwreck Project done with a friend: http://www.myspace.com/stateofthesleepy EP: http://papaiti.com/shipwreck Fitz/heatseeker/Pseudonym http://my…

What if... John Lennon showed up right here right now and asked what the music world had been up to for the last 30+ years? What songs would you tell him to listen to? What might catch his attention? What might impress him? What is new(ish) that you think he might just plain like? Has anything lived up to his legacy? I thought of this one about a month ago, and it has been burning a hole in my brain ever since. I myself just don't know enough about his preferences to have more than some vague guesses, and the real life people I ask have come up blank. Are there any Beatles fans in the house who could help me out?

Any Coldplayers out their who are also fans of Keane? I heard that Chris Martin had originally asked Tim Rice-Oxley of Keane to be the Keyboardist of Coldplay. Well anyway, wanted to start this thread since i just got into them, even though they are on hiatus right now.

Two new songs. New album, The Mindsweep is out 19th January. [video=youtube;TUAgotnkrL4] [video=youtube;__6bFfiZ2iw] I like them both, not as instant as their previous two albums though. The Last Garrison is probably my favourite so far. Never Let go.... from 2:20 :o :o

Great article on Coldplay and Embrace (mainly written on the topic of Embrace's new album before it's release and around when Magic was released). Very interesting how much the tide changed, with Coldplay supporting Embrace while Embrace were 'massive' in the brit-pop era, then they sunk almost out of existence until Chris wrote Gravity in 2004 and a few more years of success followed. Embrace dived again because of the changing music industry and they didn't release any album anyway and when they did this year, despite it being a great album, their popularity was so low because the music they make is just not popular outside of their fanbase. It's a crazy story betwe…
