I think his old thread has been buried with the old forum so I decided to create a new one for this amazing artist! He is coming out with a new album and is on Twitter and Instagram now Mobile Link: https://twitter.com/richardashcroft/status/700631579333234688 Mobile Link: https://twitter.com/richardashcroft/status/701694435684257793

The Doves I was just wondering if any of you listen to The Doves. This is a fantastic band from Britian and their album came out right around the same time as Coldplay's Parachutes did. They didn't seem to get as popular as Coldplay and I have always wondered why because they are just as talented.

What do you people think of Ninch Inch Nails? I heard the song "Closer" the other day, and I liked it. I know that Johnny Cash likes them, because he did a cover of the song Hurt.

Hello, As some of you might remember, I was a pretty busy bee on here a long time ago. Anyway - time has past and I now have my own company, a small label at present and we have recently just put out our first singles and debut LP, "How Can We Fix This?" by the band SHIELDS. It's good alt pop stuff, I think anyway. I thought - I bet some Coldplay fans would quite like this so I'm unashamedly promoting their music to you now, haha. Have a listen and see what you think (if you fancy): You can listen on Spotify or Apple Music/iTunes and most other streaming platforms, like Deezer etc There are a bunch of videos on too, like the one below for example. Bu…

Discuss all your favourite instrumentals here, whether it's Coldplay or any other artists. I'll share a couple of my favourites that relate to me and you all can share some too! Let's get started with these four: Magical and ambient, this Radiohead instrumental gem reminds me so much of a holiday earlier this year and makes me want to explore. My favourite instrumental. A damn beautiful piano! This song relates to me as it makes me think sometimes of people who I don't see anymore and reminds me of all the good times I had in the past. It's my favorite kind of music ever. It's all about the teen angst and the heavily distorted guitars. Too bad it's over now though. It will be back one day! By the way, Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins is the best grunge cd ever.

http://www.myspace.com/mumfordandsons Rather brilliant London band, have been described as 'folk-pop'. I hear some Arcade Fire in them as well though. The album, Sigh No More, is out on October 5th, it's leaked... and fuck, it is incredible. I can put a link up in Multimedia for those interested.

Stumbled upon his song "Wasnt Expecting That" a few months ago and now I get hooked! His songs are so calming and acoustic-ally good! He is a part of Gingerbread records (Think it's called that?) created by Ed Sheeran. He is currently on tour now and I almost bought a ticket for his show in Singapore. But too late for now I think then :(

OK, so after the passing of Bowie (an artist whose work I adore) it got me thinking of exactly what aspects of an artists personality you are willing to let slide whilst listening to a song or body of work. It's something I've contemplated for a few years after what happened with Lost Prophets and seeing some of the fans reactions to the news of what Ian Watkins had done. I wondered whether I would still be able to listen to music that had meant so much to me if the lead singer of a band I really loved turned out to be a paedophile. Would I be able to block that out and still appreciate the music for what it was or whether it would be tainted? I wondered whether it depend…

Recently I had a debate with someone about whether music can be judged objectively or if it is conpletely subjective. I personally believe music is entirely subjective, but what are your thoughts? I'm really looking forward to reading all your replies:)

Caught a "profile" of this band on Channel 4 yesterday evening and was mega-impressed, so I thought I'd start a thread for them. If you like electronic Eighties-style "pop", I'm sure you'll love Hurts. I have a feeling they're going to be massive. http://www.informationhurts.com/gb/home/ http://www.facebook.com/hurts?v=wall#!/hurts?v=wall http://www.tape.tv/musikvideos/Hurts/Better-Than-Love

Okay. I'm using this forum, and this post to reveal an album I have been working on. I hope I'm posting it under the right category. If I'm not, please let me know and I will repost to where it should be posted. Anyways, the album is inspired by Coldplay, thus I felt it appropriate to share it here. In Coldplay terms, this album is meant as a combination of many of Coldplay's album styles (X&Y, Ghost Stories, Viva and A Head full of Dreams predominantly). The album is three parts and directly correlate to three events in my life, and probably most others. The album is a "love, breakup, recovery and love again" album called Your Love Means Everything (Yes, I am awa…

Due to the recent news of a young British band called 'Viola Beach' reported dead in a car crash and the recent losses of David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Glenn Frey, Maurice White, Scott Weiland and Terry Wogan, I must post this thread for a tribute to these incredible musicians & artists. My thoughts are with Viola Beach's and their managers' friends and families:cry: x

I am kinda wondering if there are any Lana Del Rey fans amongst the Coldplayers? They are arguably diametrically opposite artists in terms of the music they create. Lana being depicted as downright depressing, while Coldplay as utterly optimistic! These two are probably my absolute favourite artists on equal level (add Noel as third hehe), so I wonder if I am the only one crazy enough to enjoy both? Chime in if you like Lana :)

I just bought a record player last week. I've been building up a record collection slowly. Right now it is pretty tiny but I plan on gradually expanding it. Do you buy records? How big is your collection? Are they mostly your parents records or yours too? Post pictures of your album covers etc. if you want. I think one of my favourite parts about them is having big pieces of artwork.

As there doesnt seem to be a thread on this band yet, I thought I'd open one. So, any people who like Pink Floyd on here ? Which albums/pieces do you like most ? My fav albums are AHM, DSOM, WYWH... My fav pieces are Time, Us and Them, Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, Summer 68, Shine on you crazy diamond, Anybody out there, The grand vizier's garden party... Sometimes I wonder what it would sound like if Coldplay would go prog rock, but I guess this will never happen.
