The Doves I was just wondering if any of you listen to The Doves. This is a fantastic band from Britian and their album came out right around the same time as Coldplay's Parachutes did. They didn't seem to get as popular as Coldplay and I have always wondered why because they are just as talented.

What do you people think of Ninch Inch Nails? I heard the song "Closer" the other day, and I liked it. I know that Johnny Cash likes them, because he did a cover of the song Hurt.

Hello, As some of you might remember, I was a pretty busy bee on here a long time ago. It's my favorite kind of music ever. It's all about the teen angst and the heavily distorted guitars. Too bad it's over now though. It will be back one day! By the way, Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins is the best grunge cd ever.

Stumbled upon his song "Wasnt Expecting That" a few months ago and now I get hooked! His songs are so calming and acoustic-ally good! He is a part of Gingerbread records (Think it's called that?) created by Ed Sheeran. He is currently on tour now and I almost bought a ticket for his show in Singapore. OK, so after the passing of Bowie (an artist whose work I adore) it got me thinking of exactly what aspects of an artists personality you are willing to let slide whilst listening to a song or body of work. It's something I've contemplated for a few years after what happened with Lost Prophets and seeing some of the fans reactions to the news of what Ian Watkins had done. I wondered whether I would still be able to listen to music that had meant so much to me if the lead singer of a band I really loved turned out to be a paedophile. Would I be able to block that out and still appreciate the music for what it was or whether it would be tainted? I wondered whether it depend…

Recently I had a debate with someone about whether music can be judged objectively or if it is conpletely subjective. I personally believe music is entirely subjective, but what are your thoughts? I'm really looking forward to reading all your replies:)

Okay. I'm using this forum, and this post to reveal an album I have been working on. I hope I'm posting it under the right category. I am kinda wondering if there are any Lana Del Rey fans amongst the Coldplayers? They are arguably diametrically opposite artists in terms of the music they create. Lana being depicted as downright depressing, while Coldplay as utterly optimistic! These two are probably my absolute favourite artists on equal level (add Noel as third hehe), so I wonder if I am the only one crazy enough to enjoy both? Chime in if you like Lana :)

I just bought a record player last week. I've been building up a record collection slowly. Right now it is pretty tiny but I plan on gradually expanding it. Do you buy records? How big is your collection? Are they mostly your parents records or yours too? Post pictures of your album covers etc. if you want. I think one of my favourite parts about them is having big pieces of artwork.

As there doesnt seem to be a thread on this band yet, I thought I'd open one. So, any people who like Pink Floyd on here ? Which albums/pieces do you like most ? My fav albums are AHM, DSOM, WYWH... My fav pieces are Time, Us and Them, Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, Summer 68, Shine on you crazy diamond, Anybody out there, The grand vizier's garden party... Sometimes I wonder what it would sound like if Coldplay would go prog rock, but I guess this will never happen.
