I don't remember if there's ever been a Sufjan thread before... so here's one now. I just saw him live on Thursday, and it has really rekindled my love with Greetings From Michigan... seriously one of my favorite albums ever. So... let's all now discuss the brilliance of Sufjan.

Does anyone know Mayer Hawthorne? I just discovered his songs not so long time ago, apparently this year....And he's got the soul when he sings. I'm currently listening to his two albums, How Do You Do and Where Does This Door Go?. Right now, he's touring in the UK and Europe with John Mayer I believe, and I have been wanting to see him live on stage alone without being a guest singer (if you know what I mean..). I mean, ahhhh, I just love him that much :D <3 These are some of his photos, in case you might not know him.. :) And his music videos.. Enjoy :D Share your thoughts if you know him or might not know him or anything :co…

Hazel O'Connor is a punk/new wave singer from the 80's. Does anyone else on here like her? I watched Breaking Glass (a film she starred in and did the soundtrack for) last night and realised how much I love her unique voice. I even tweeted "I absolutely love Hazel O'Connor" and she replied ( :wacky: )! "Aw thank you for your kind words. Have a great weekend X", highlight of my week. If you haven't heard of Hazel, then watch Breaking Glass, it's a bloody great film also starring Phil Daniels ( Quadrophenia). Give some of her songs a listen! A couple of my favourites: EDIT: please listen to Hazel O'Connor- Will You, the saxophone solo in it is…

Away from the fanaticism of the Coldplay section, let's see what the hipsters and the people with good taste in music think of a band that surprisingly still draws interest from them or that least it did at some point. I have just bought his 2005 release - I believe the first single from it is called Sitting, Wishing, Waiting. It is a great song, and the album itself is amazing. It's the kind of album you play whilst driving to the beach on a sunny summer afternoon... :D

  14. Radiohead experienced problems with paperless ticketing earlier this year Paperless gig ticket technology still not 'practical' Paperless tickets could help combat touts but many venues still do not have the capabilities to support them, say independent music promoters. Although most tickets are sold online, bringing a printed barcode ticket means it is not truly a digital transaction. But one independent promoter Anton Lockwood, who works for DHP, says paperless is not always "practical". "It only works where the cost of introducing the system can be spread over high ticket prices," he said. "The physical design of arenas can make paperless tickets much eas…

crazy stuff!! i had no idea they were this popular. the first 4 wembley dates are completely sold out and the remaining 3 are sure to go too. after these 7 shows they will be 3rd in terms of most shows headlined at wembley with 11 the behind the stones (12) and MJ (15) just to put this into context. bands like U2, Muse, Coldplay and Oasis have only managed to do 2 or 3 night stays at the venue. michael jackson at the peak of his career in 1988 played 7 nights at the venue.

Even though Snow Patrol have been quiet the last few months ahead of their forthcoming European shows, front man Gary Lightbody has been anything but... Tired Pony began life as a doodle in Gary's jotter. During idle moments on Snow Patrol's year-long tour cycle for their last album, A Hundred Million Suns, Gary began writing songs for this imaginary band. Forward to January 4th 2010, a cast of characters assembled at Portland's Type Foundry studio; from the extended Snow Patrol family there was Troy Stewart, Iain Archer, Belle & Sebastian's Richard Colburn and producer Garret 'Jacknife' Lee, who brought in Tired Pony's final two members, Peter Buck from R.E.M. and…
