Hey guys, I've been debating giving this a try for a few days. Very unstraightforward song vocally and instrumentally. I layered two acoustic guitars and two vocals. I decided to tune the guitars (D#-G#-C#-F#-G#-C#) and (D#-G#-C#-F#-B-D#) Then the chords consist of major and minor shapes with the high two strings open in the traditional Chris Martin style. This cover is a semitone flat from the key in the album version. So to play along with the album track, all the tunings need to be pitched up one semitone. Essentially, the pattern is, Amin, Gmaj, Fmaj. occasionally an Emin or Cmaj thrown in. It's all very neatly within a major key. Cheers. …

This one was requested. I was glad because I love the song. At that last second i worked out what I imagine is the actual tuning used. The original song is in the key of Amaj roughly. The chords are at least. Chris Martin chooses some interesting notes vocally on occasion in the song. I played this cover a full step down in Gmaj. But that aside, if I were playing the original key, I had been playing it in standard tuning and just let the B and high E ring open the whole time. Probably one of my favourite Ghost Stories songs to play on guitar. The delay can be pretty tricky to get right which is why you'll hear sometimes if I play even a little bit out of time it tends to get messy. I'm about to put up a short cover i did of yellow. i talk about the guitar tuning that chris martin invented (originally used for shiver) and play it. It came out nicely i think/hope.
