mneumonics is when you use the first letters of all the words in a sentence in order.

e.g. All the previous youtube videos were titled as mneumonics of the lyrics in the video.

the video that contained:

And all the kids they dance

All the kids all night

Until Monday morning feels another life

Was called: AATKTDATKANUMMFAL

actually, that's an initialism.

a mnemonic device is an initialism which is supposed to help one remember something... like PEMDAS (although, i guess that counts as an acronym, but still :P)...

or something like that. :P

edit: oh, fine, chelsea, just beat me to it. :snobby:

Personally I don't think the album will be called 'Mnemonics and Murals' I still think the initials will be M......... X....... and it'll be released on October 10th in UK. Even Oracle said the release date for the album has always been the same. My guess is they've had the title for a while and found out that the 10th day of the 10th month (due to MX in Roman numerals meaning 1010) is a Monday. Last year Chris said in an interview that he hoped the album would be out for Christmas 2010. I'm guessing an idea of release date was going to be 10/10/10 at that time, but obviously the album took longer than expected...

In other news, I heard a new Coldplay song title today called 'Shooting Star' :D

When the title is really Mnemonic Murals; that would make a lot of sense actually with the graffiti stuff going on... But I do think that the (reversed) bass sounds way too uptempo for these sensitive lyrics. Although I think the lyrics are kind of liberating...

Yeah.. I don't know who came up with it (the guy on YouTube?) but I'm definitely going for Mnemonic Murals. It was about German kids too, right? So I'm thinking they're going like graffiti; and that graffiti has a deeper meaning of what those kids went through or something.

I think it's actually two songs, based on the style of the videos/teasers and their meanings:

SONG 1:

I turn the music up

I got my records on

I shut the world outside until the lights come on

I turn the music up

I'm on a roll this time

and heaven is in sight

I turn the music up

I got my records on

From underneath the rubble sing a rebel song

Don't wanna see another generation drop

I'd rather be a comma than a full stop

But my heart is beating and my pulses start

Cathedrals in my heart

And we saw oh this light

I swear you, emerge blinking into to tell me it's alright

As we soar walls, every siren is a symphony

And every tear's a waterfall

SONG 2:

Maybe the streets alight

Maybe the trees are gone

I feel my heart start beating to my favourite song

And all the kids they dance

All the kids all night

Until Monday morning feels another life

Maybe I'm in the black

Maybe I'm on my knees

Maybe I'm in the gap

Between two trapezes

What do you guys reckon?

Where? How do you know?

Btw, judging what locust7 said it is very probable that we will hear several new songs (since the videos and pictures refer to different songs - apparently) before LP5 is released.

So this time Coldplay would release 3 songs before actually releasing the whole album.

It is just a theory, btw...

A few things.

1. This bass riff reminds me of Mr. Brightside. :P

2. I am willing to bet (quite a bit) that the new title is not Mnemonics and Murals. Heck, just because of some dude's post on Youtube...He's just speculating like the rest of us. The chances that that poster had inside info are basically zero. Also, it doesn't sound Coldplay-ish.

Infact the title could very well be Mnemonics and Murals because if you go to the coldplay official website and hover above where it says 'exhibition room' I used to think that was a crown but it could be two 'M's put together and that could be their new logo...

I disagree because the verses -

I turn the music up

I got my records on

I shut the world outside until the lights come on

&

Maybe the streets alight

Maybe the trees are gone

I feel my heart start beating to my favorite song

- have the exact same syllabic rhythm. I guarantee that these two at least are part of the same song.

Yeah, but Chris said it would be two words. So Mnemonic Murals then, but Mnemonics makes more sense because it could explain the MX in the newspaper on their website.
