AMDB9
Sounds like it could be a title that would fit well in MX....thanks for making all these song threads!!
Ronnie O Sullivan
Its my bet for the Noel Gallagher feature. ..
Sparky
I was thinking Noel Gallagher for this one too :P I think this should be the single cover though! (if it becomes one)
arushofjacktothehead
I also think Noel G is defo on this one. :P
myl_oxyl_oto
Noely G is on this one, singing solo with Chris as a pianist instead, hence the title Army of One. (purely unlikely fiction, but a guy can dream.)
a2iel
Wonder why Tove Lo is the only one noted as "ft" on the track list..
Coeurli
Wonder why Tove Lo is the only one noted as "ft" on the track list.. Either they're keeping the other collabs "secret" for now, or the collaborations are on a more subtle level and they only appear on the credits. We'll see! A Rush of Magic
Im feelinf like this was an unreleased MX song. Otherwise i cant make any predictions.
joseki
This song is about Big Boss or Solid Snake and is going to sound like this: [video=youtube;ec0XKhAHR5I] :P
Rickulus
Guessing by the title, I'm guessing this will be the <Violet Hill> or <Major Minus> of this album. The one aggressive song they always have in their albums.
MosesTheMarshmallow
"Army of one" was briefly the recruiting slogan of the US Army. Wonder if that is relevant...
strawberrytom
^ ^ I thought so too! Well I'm hoping it the heavier/rockier song on there because it doesn't look like any of the others could be now.
Sparky
Wonder why Tove Lo is the only one noted as "ft" on the track list.. 'Fun' will be more of a duet, while the other collabs have more minor roles. Beyonce as an 'Angel', which means her involvement will be subtle, while it's just one guitar solo for Noel Gallagher. 42Escapist
The title Army of One automatically makes me think of Viva. I'm predicting that this song will be the darker, more stripped down/acoustic moment on the album. I guess I just can't see this being very upbeat. 42Escapist
The mystery song of the album That's right! It is the one song other than the two interludes that we know nothing about. It hasn't been brought up in any interviews.
ColdplayingfromKansas
If this turns out to be a Viva song reincarnated I am going to explode. That's kind of the vibe I'm getting from the title. Not that it was an actual Viva song, but just in terms of sound or lyrics
gentleparachute
Given their various homages / influences, I wonder whether this could be their nod / tribute to RH? I would be sooo dazzled if it is. The title is very Radiohead-ish to me, like they were referencing You and Whose Army?
the_escapist
Coldplayzone.it is reporting that this track lasts 3 minutes and 24 seconds and in the end, it includes the hidden track X Marks the Spot.

Hmm, we all thought X Marks the Spot appears after Up&Up. This would mean that Army of One on its own is very short...
mayrn43
So that means Up&Up WILL close out the album, and the whole cycle! A fitting end :)
