Coldplay

Has anyone seen the US commercial for the VLV/Prospket's March CD set? I was watching Ned's Declassified on Nickteen when the commerical aired. The funny thing is the commerical was on the network made for teens and yet those teens were most likely the ones who did not vote for Coldplay for any of the AMA awards. I'm sure someone will post the commercial on YouTube soon. I would upload it from my DVD recorder but I am not computer savy. BTW...I am not a teen. I was just watching that show because there was nothing else on TV.

FYI...the Grammy nominations will be announced on Wednesday, 03-12-2008. Normally the nominations are announced early in the morning but CBS is having a nomination concert that night, so I don't know exactly how the nominations will be presented. They might announce them all in the morning and then re-announced the nominations for the major categories during the concert. Or, they might announce the lesser ones in the morning and the major ones during the concert. Either way, we'll find out how many nominations Coldplay has earned and who they are up against. One more thing....the Grammy's will be held on Sunday, 08-02-2009.

Too many people get caught up on evolution or experimental meaning electronica or more complex structures. Mainly because people use Radiohead to draw conclusions from Coldplay. VLV was not Kid A and its easy to see why, Coldplay's sadness has always been more wide screen, more personal and less creepy than Thom Yorke's ironic blend of horror that was thrown all over kid A in contrast VLV was an experimental album of sunny days grounded in world music and culture. Um...there's a lot of stuff right now where I am on the net about Coldplay breaking up and Chris going solo at the end of 2009... Just wondering, do you think Coldplay could pull off a Radiohead/NIN and release their next album free/pay-what-you-want? They certainly are a big enough name, and rich enough... even if it was the next EP of say Demos/More deleted tracks from previous sessions. I would ESPECIALLY love to see them release some songs for remixing. I've gotten plenty of fun from the Radiohead/NIN remix tracks... and I can only imagine the more fun I'd have with Coldplay (since I actually really enjoy their music). Thoughts?

Coldplay and the Kaiser Chiefs have pledged their support to a charity for seriously ill children by offering VIP concert tickets through an auction site. The bands have each donated two tickets to a live show and "meet and greet", which are being auctioned off through the charity site Buy Once Give Twice.
