In the UK you are considered an adult when you are 18, however I've been discussing this with my friends and in class and they definitely do not feel like they are an adults yet even though many are slightly older than 18. Most people thought it was down to their parents mothering them still, even one guy said that he did not think he would be a proper adult till his parents died... :anxious: Couple of poll options

I'm guessing there are at least some people here who have figured out what they want in life, and maybe some of them have been in a situation similar to mine and a lot of others'. And some people may dismiss the whole thing as simple laziness, but...whatever. I'm not here to give fucks. Hey guys. Don't really know why I'm putting this here, but I guess I just need a place to vent. Nearly six months ago, my little sister died five days after being in a car crash near Amiens. She had head trauma and died of a brain aneurysm on the 10th of May. The coroner thought it was suspicious that the hospital staff didn't act on the head injuries, and instead focused on the injuries to her legs. Anyway, so they made an inquiry and made a court case out of it. Which was really difficult, because we were all trying to grieve whilst there were coroners and lawyers all down our neck. Im thinking of writing a short story to film. There are my ideas so far: The film is set in a moderate dystopian future, here we are all expected to be 'in touch' at all times. The world is fast paced and there are even government war like propaganda posters around warning to keep your mobile on you for example. Our main character is a sort of a technophobe and in a sense is stuck in the past. The world is loud, and he wants peace and quiet. The occupants in his house are fairly loud and its no better outside. He is trying to concentrate on reading/painting or something when he gets a phone call, he ignores it. So I was getting out of a dance club with 2 friends of mine, it was like 6:00 am (9 hours ago) and we were walking in the street when 4 or 5 guys came running after us and one of them grabbed me and my reaction was to punch him in the face. Fatal error. He took out his knife and tried to stab me with it, so I took his hand to try to keep away the knife and then he told me to give him everything I got. At that moment one of my friends was able to escape and he ran for help. You guys ever wake up in the morning during the winter thinking you have school... You have the awful feeling like "Shit, I'm so tired and now I have to get out of bed and go to this awful place" and then realize, "OH WAIT. We have a snow day!"
