Paradise

All my favorite bands had phases i didn't like. Beatles, Muse, Radiohead, Linkin Park... So just relax and enjoy their new songs, if you hate it, just wait for the next album, it can't get more "pop" than that, if that's the problem. They will probably relax after that album :laugh3: Its just their best phase(in fame, and in spirit) and they are trying to show their "happiness" with all that color and new style of songs. So thats just my opinion, i think this "style" of songs its not permanet :laugh3:

I'm sorry for starting yet another Paradise thread... But I was wondering if any of you would be bold enough to tell the band your honest opinion if you met them face to face. I was inspired by the Bakery/Beehive encounters, which are not so rare and by the fact that Chris was curious about the fans' opinion recently. I personally don't know what I would do, I'm sure I wouldn't be acting too enthusiastically, but it would be really difficult to tell them I don't like it straight away. What about you?

I am not writing to defend the single Paradise, nor am I intending to bash it. But I must point out that people seem to be forgetting that Mylo Xyloto is a concept album. And that is why I am so surprised by the apparent rush to judgment by so many people. Judging a concept album by one single (or two, if you include ETIAW) is misguided. It is like reading one or two chapters in a book and calling the whole novel shit. Perhaps the marketing approach has been a bit off. All this negative talk makes me wonder what do the haters want the songs to sound like? They obviously love playing in front of large crowds where they can play stadium type anthems. Even Yellow is played faster now to get more of a jolt for the crowd. I have been a fan since Parachutes and really enjoy the MX era so far. In fact, Parachutes is my least favorite album. I felt I was the only one wanting them to play C.O.L over Shiver because it brings more energy. I listen to Arcade Fire, Jay-Z, and Bruce Springsteen and get vibes from all 3 in the new songs. No, not because we know the song's going to end, but because it's just absolutely beautiful. That piano and Chris's voice....redeems the crappier parts beyond belief. In fact, everything from the moment Jonny joins is pretty much epic. Seriously though, THAT PIANO. Which troubles me, because it looked like, based on the Paris debut on the song, Chris may be standing up for this song. Hopefully this isn't the case because there's so much piano in the song...and if they make all of that backing track I will be very annoyed. :veryangry2:

Whenever you guys turn on your' computer ( If your PC people), you probably hear the Windows XP welcoming tune. Brian Eno is the writer for this song. Strangely, one of these pieces he wrote for Microsoft sounds a lot like Paradise's synth. Coincidence? The very instant I heard this song for the first time, I was blown away. This is one of the most beautiful songs they've ever made. Whilst I've been critical today about the song overall, I haven't mentioned what I do like on this song: Davide Rossi. The first minute is absolutely wonderful, the soaring violins, the cello, and the violins throughout the song.. they have the most beautiful harmonies and melodies all to themselves, I feel bad it's just masked by an extremely average song :confused:

Does anyone else the guitar from 3:50 onwards has a lot of similarities to Moving to Mars? BTW I love the new single. Wasn't sure on the first listen but after a few listens it grows! I bought Parachutes the day it came out; own the Blue Room EP and have loved Coldplay since I first heard them in 2000. I would class myself as an old school fan. Above all, I love the band for their music - simple as. They do melody like no-one else can - they are artisans, geniuses at this. No other artist in recent times has such a massive back catalogue of songs with such complex chord sequences or lingering melodies that are so beautifully shaped to produce such wonderful, emotive work. Now I'm not too fond of JT, but we all know this is Will's favourite song, and I wonder if he had a big influence in shaping the song with it's sort of hip-hop shuffle beat? We also KNEW that there would be some sort of electronic beats coming on this album as it was detailed numerous times that Will was playing with drum beats on his laptop, etc. I really like the song though. Sure, it's very commercial, but then again most single releases are made that way on purpose nowadays.

Hey people, I think this thread is necessary after all the controversies, that Paradise started. I've not been a member here for long, though I've been in love with Coldplay for quite a while now, but since over the last 3 years there was not a lot coming from them, it was only this June that I decided to create an account here. So much for my person. I think it's sad, that people are starting threads about how bad the song is. Is this a Coldplay fan page or what?
