So, I see that a lot of people are worried that Car Kids isn't on the album (which boggles my mind because none of us even knows what Car Kids sounds like). I actually never thought Car Kids was a song. I thought it was a lyric or a concept for the album. But, I suddenly got this idea. The artwork for Paradise is the part of the artwork of Mylo Xyloto that has Car Kids written on it. It's just cut off in the Paradise artwork. Maybe Car Kids will be a b-side to Paradise. Thoughts?

Did anybody else notice that NBC played Paradise during a little intro video while they showed pictures of the trophy? On a side note, they played Every Teardrop is a Waterfall during last year's final tournament highlights.

Ya know, when Paradise was first released, well, first played in september I think, I liked it a lot. Then it got pushed to being ok, then when Mylo Xyloto was released I liked other songs over it. I remember for months nobody knew what Paradise was and people didn't like it for being too slow. But now? It's Coldplay's biggest song. I don't understand. Nothing is a particular stand out in it. It's not lyrically amazing, and I can name a bunch of Coldplay songs which are better than it. I can't get my head round it really that other songs get ignored over this. I now tend to listen to it without people knowing and very very rarely because I feel a bit mainstream, which…

So, I was at a party and they played Paradise. I was the only one who wanted to acknowledge that I even knew the song. It made me so depressed!! Anybody else ever felt like this? Man, it hurts. :embarrassed:

I liked the song from first listen but I know alot of people did not. Has this changed after repeat listens?

God knows how I'm not the biggest fan of this song, but a friend just sent me something over FB. Its Serbian candidate for Eurosong and some media have accused him of plagiarism. Paradise is my favourite song off of the MX album. The reason why I like it so much is because I can relate to it word-for-word. I have family issues and my parents treat me like Cinderella: I do all the chores and hurt my posture for them. I also get blamed for things I don't do; like in the song the world "flew away from (my) reach." I "run away in my sleep" on some levels: I try to close my eyes and dream of a paradise for just my lover and I, where all of our troubles would escape us. Hopefully, Coldplay will help me reach my paradise, and I will search the ends of the earth until I find it.

I think it's a good choice as single... it seems they have overproduced HLH so as to worsen it and make it sound paradise like a real PARADISE just next!! I have already started liking this song more and more but inside the album it definitely sounds much better and worth of being single

I'm doing a case study on Coldplay and I thought it would be good to analyse the 'Paradise' video considering it's quite different to their other stuff. I'm trying to analyse representation, audience and institution in the video and compare it to their older videos. So far I've got: - Humour appeals to audience - Irony of seeing one of the biggest bands in the world dressed up in elephant costumes (links to humour) - Main focus of the rest of their videos is Chris, whereas in this video his face is only seen for exactly 3 seconds, when he takes of the mask.
