by the way, I KNEW that the rules were simply a scare tactic.

the whole thing about them knowing "just by looking at the ticket" and someone's friend saying something about how MSG got people to check ID's. hahah.

they simply scanned them and we were all in :)

nothing but a manipulative scare tactic.

but hey, that means that Tom's crew, including me, got in and enjoyed the show.

that said, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Tom, sooooo much for giving me your extra ticket.

You are generosity incarnate and a true gentlemen. May you fly back home safely.

Goodnight everyone.

what an awesome place is that Madison Square Garden is anyway!

i like it.So beautifull. And Coldplay playing there after 2005 woah!

JUST GOT BACK!

AMAZING show. Yes- the setlist was predictable, and Yes- there was no encore.

But I have never heard Chris's voice sound so on point. The whole band was on top of their game tonight. They made it feel like a huge arena show but also like it was in your living room. Excellent and free.

another thing

i don't know about you guys

but how awesome was Jon Hopkins?

god he was like Jonny Greenwood's brother up there

and the animation was dreamlike and oddly beautiful.

that was a great way to lead into the show.

i even liked a couple of The Blue Jackets songs. haha.

but yeah, Jon Hopkins = genius.

People who were NOT on the FLOOR section ... did you receive papers in your head during "Viva la vida"?

just got back

AMAZING!!!!!!

CRAP PICTURES BUT THATS OK!!!

THEY WERE 20 FT AWAY FROM US!!!!!! i only saw them for about a second becasue it got so crowded right in front of them. but i saw chris's locks and guys beautiful face =)

AHHH!

201, nice :)

when i saw them come around to guys i was like, "wow.. this is something else"

and then Will sang! hahah man oh man. too good.

i can't wait for youtube videos, especially for Fix You.

that was probably favorite sing along at any show i've ever been to in my life

i got goosebumps.

and when the jumbo screen came on behind them...

i can die happy now. that was a beautiful experience.

but yeah. i'm off to bed now.

more tomorrow. haha.

again, Thank You Tom :)

no videos.... hardly any decent pics and all this talk of an amazing show!

i was nearby in 102, the path they took brought them within arms reach of us :) the only photo i got of them was from my crappy cell phone though- i think you can kind of make out will's bald head but that's about it :P

i'll try uploading some of my videos in a bit

I had a freak out when they went into the crowd during yellow, I was in section 128 aisle and ran down to try to get closer. It was almost as good as the last MSG when Chris was like 5 rows in front of me during "In My Place."

The place was more packed than I thought it would be, security was super lax, we didn't even put on our wristbands. I took my friend to his first Coldplay concert and he loved it. He also liked that for once he was in MSG for someone that doesn't suck like the Knicks.

I was so excited that I forgot what the set list was. My favorite songs live from this album is "Lost!" and "Viva La Vida." My pictures suck being in the section I was, but I'll put them up too so everyone can see the layout and stuff.

Great show. Wasn't too impressed with Jon Hopkins, but once they took the stage, Coldplay proved why they are one of (if not the) top band on the planet.

A lot of people were upset about the lack of an encore, but considering it was FREE, and I got to see one of my favorite bands, I didn't mind.

PS. How awesome was Chris after he screwed up on Fix You? That was great!

awwwww. sounds like it was great!

i get worked up watching them play live from the comfiness of my own home. i can't imagine how amazing it'd be to actually be part of the crowd *swoons*

really glad to hear everyone had such a great night (:

oh and cheers for mentioning jon hopkins, i was wondering what everyone would think.

wheee! I feel elated just reading about it :nice:

M.

just got back like 10 mins ago. GREEEATT SHOW! Wwaaaay to short for any true coldplay fans taste though. I was bummed about no encore, espeically when bascially everyone was chanting there names for 3mins after they had left. I'm just so glad i got in. I felt the old stuff was really good but you could tell that they really havent all the kinks worked out of there new material. Overall best damn free show ive ever been to. Thanks Tom. I'll have pictures and videos up tomorrow or wedsnday along with my full review of my experience.
