Like I said. These lyrics may just be from songs the band decide not to put on AHFOD

Really hope not! No X&Y/GS lyrics here. Those are top quality, let's hope this early indication translates to the rest of the album.

the new lyrics are really incredible. they're better than all the lyrics on MX. :D

" We can dance all/every night marching for the water I'm/ I might..."

I wanna say it's "searching" but I am seeing it say "arching". I don't seem an M. Could be "Catching, Watching"

I'm catching up... where did these new lyrics come from?

From Chris' pants he wore at the iheartradio festival last week.

It will when everythings put together

I love when lyrics don't seem to make much sense, and are a bit more abstract. For example, most songs on Ghost Stories have simple straight forward understandable lyrics. Now take X&Y or Viva for example. Speed of Sound has some great abstract lyrics that don't seem to make sense. "And birds go flying at the speed of sound to show you how it all began". I mean, you can understand and picture it, but at the same time its just really abstract. Same goes with Violet Hill. The lyrics are just really different and awesome. Also, I don't mind songs that are about love and stuff, but I like when they have nothing to do with it sometimes. There is nothing wrong with simple lyrics, and I love GS, but I love lyrics that are more abstract and make you try to interpret them. Try to figure out what they mean. End rant lol.

This is slightly off-topic, but I really think that's why songs like Yellow and The Scientist are so loved both by Coldplayers and the world in general. They introduce themes of love, and it's immediately obvious that's what those two songs are about when you listen to them, but the lyrics themselves put a twist on what are thought to be standard "love song" lyrics. With The Scientist in particular, it's that juxtaposition of the cold, hard logic of "science" with the very abstract and subjective topic of "love."

I adore love ballads, but to me the only great ones are the ones that can put a spin on the story they tell through the use of imagery and phrasing (that's the main reason GS was a bit of a disappointment to me; the lyrics could have been swapped out with a lot of different love ballads from a lot of artists and very little would change about how the song was interpreted or perceived). Anyone can write "And I don't, and I don't, and I don't, and I don't want anybody else but you," but there are very few people who could write "I was just guessing at numbers and figures, pulling your puzzles apart/Questions of science, of science and progress, do not speak as loud as my heart."

With what we've seen of the AHFoD lyrics so far, I'm really optimistic that the songs will all have that twist to them, where they may be talking about well-worn topics but the way in which those topics are described is unique. I don't necessarily expect another The Scientist, or Clocks, or Politik, or what-have-you, but I do think we can look forward to some really stellar songs.

But these pants are white and not blue like the ones at the iheart radio festival gig.

Photoshop magic was used on an original image to enhance the letters.

This is the original image (uploaded by the official Coldplay Facebook page earlier on today):

It was from this enhanced image, that we got these new lyrics (thank you @ColdplayAtlas):

Exactly right! I was trying to say this as well but kinda lost that point lol. Love songs are great, but they are even better when the lyrics have a twist to them. Great post!

Why is it worrysome? we knew the band was making a pop album.

I might be going to Global Citizen, so to see them perform a new song live would be crazy!

EDIT: They aren't streaming GC, right? If so I do think that there's a higher chance they'll play a new song... like for ASFOS they did it in front of a crowd and told em not to record remember?

The live streaming we can watch it here:

(Thank you @ColdplayAtlas)

One thing before we get started, hats freaking off to @ColdplayAtlas for somehow editing the pic so well that you could see a part of the lyrics on a side of his pants we originally thought were meaningless. Congratz! :D If someone could tell me how he did that that'd be great...

I really agree. These new lyrics we're seeing so far are hinting at possibly their greatest album yet. I'm loving them so far! These are hands down some of the best lyrics they've made. Great job Coldplay! :D Now please actually use the lyrics unlike the MX...

I agree with you when it comes to The Scientist and Yellow. Those are songs about love but their lyrics sort of put a different twist on them making the song much more interesting then a typical love songs nowadays... These new lyrics are just so exciting, mysterious and wonderful that it's very interesting to see what they all mean.. You know all of this is fun. Trying to figure out these new lyrics and where they are, and especially in that one photo someone edited there's even more lyrics that Chris probably would have ever thought we'd decipher. Just these subtle hints that he's making a great effort to make the lyrics awesome is great! These lyrics are much much better than most songs nowadays... hopefully they're actually part of a song this time!

I know the wait is long and seemingly unbearable, but I know it's all worth it. When they announce the new single/album/era, I'm gonna be so unbelievably happy and excited that I'll instantly forget any of the negative feelings that a long wait brings with itself.

Just thought of that and wanted to share some positive thoughts and feelings :)

^ This.

We're not going to have to wait forever, you know. It'll come eventually. :D

I have A Head Full Of Dreams... and one of them is to go to a Coldplay Concert :laugh4:

Seriously? 'Dancing' is not a toxic word. This insinuates absolutely nothing.

The Breathe, Breathe, Breathe lyrics I saw earlier this week reminded me of Shiver.

It's not that hard to enhance the picture. Just tweak up the brightness or tweak it down and change the filter. [emoji23]

Goodness gracious me! There's so much forensic analysis that it's like an episode of CSI in here!

I explain what i meant with "dancing all night" being a worrysome lyric to me. I don't mind that Coldplay songs may be danceable, but if you explicitly make a lyric out of it it might suggest something in the same vein as ETIAW and featuring the "oh we're all so happy let's dance for the rest of our lives mindset" that comes with it, which is something I hope the new album will not (or at elast not exclusively) be about. That's it.
