I really loved it!! There were many videos in the beginning that I had never seen... Also I really liked how you interspersed old clips with the mx ones that have max grandiosity and hence are best at showing the long way they have come.

Isn't it ironic that, when the single is released, people would hardly show any interest what you have to say about it. They would just be totally crazy. Either expressing their joy or frustration. :D

 

But, it would be nice if the song was meant for India in someway. :)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"

 

It's been a week now since we were told we were going to get something "in a few days". Chris is back in LA, though. It could be for the weekend or it could be that they are really done with the album. Either way, I really doubt that we will get something tomorrow. Maybe they had tomorrow in mind but it got pushed back because of Adele's single release. Rik's tweet gives me some hope. I bet we will get something for sure in a few weeks or a month at the most.

This "single in a few days" thing could easily be lost in translation. It happens all the time when fans speak to the band. Maybe they've mis-interpreted something they've said and assumed they were refering to a single or something. Either that, or the band change their mind. The track record from these things is very poor. I can't remember the last thing that ended up being accurate from these scenarios :P

Maybe they've mis-interpreted something they've said and assumed they were refering to a single or something. Either that, or the band change their mind. Adele just announced her album for November 20. So that rumor was true, why can't one of the Coldplay ones be true lol.

In any case the waiting is driving me demented because the longer it takes for the album to be released, the farther down the line the tour is :(

So, assuming the expected -rumoured- release date is in december, do you guys think Adele's announcement affects those plans?

i think it is a safe bet that adele will be number one for multiple weeks once it's released. and no matter whether the band is invested in album sales/charts, the money making machine that is their label definitely is. and it's in the best interests of all labels to share release information among them in order to maximize profits through their biggest artists' releases.

 

so even though the adele release date is news to us, i'm sure warner bros were aware and have taken all kinds of details into account regarding the release and the promotion of the coldplay album. so don't worry, things must be planned months ahead. it will happen according to plan, unless the band wants to delay the release for whatever (mostly creative) reasons.

I dont think the single gets released tomorrow somehow.

The story which shuffled the cards in here, is that they filmed the music video already and performed Amazing Day, without sharing any information really. That's what made people feel like album release is just around the corner. They totally looked like they're ready to release it soon, didn't they? :P

 

It's all just a speculation, right now i could tell two possible scenarios:

 

It's either they haven't actually finished the album yet, so no release dates to talk about.

 

OR...

 

The second scenario, which would be a bit weird, but right now it's still possible... They have just managed to finish it and going for surprise release with releasing the first single and whole album almost together (which should be very very soon, if record company cares about competition with Adele)

It would be interesting if they follow that path, which would be opposite to previous albums, where most fans already were tired of half of the songs on album. So this time no promoting before, but promoting the hell out if it after the release. Opportunity to play the whole album without hearing any of it before, would be awesome.

You hit the nail on its head. It would make no sense at all to film a video, perform a new song and show off their AHFOD-themed clothing back in September if they're planning to release the album next spring. So it's either one of the two scenarios you provide, or the record label changed the timetable because they learned about Adele's release and don't want AHFOD to compete with her.
