You hit the nail on its head. It would make no sense at all to film a video, perform a new song and show off their AHFOD-themed clothing back in September if they're planning to release the album next spring. So it's either one of the two scenarios you provide, or the record label changed the timetable because they learned about Adele's release and don't want AHFOD to compete with her.

 

Maybe last minute change of plans following feedback on Amazing Day (us not rating it)... they might have taken some criticisms on board and decided to delay original plans for release to tweak things further? Or maybe they will do something similar to MX and start playing the new songs before releasing the album but start the tour a few months ahead first this time?

a band I like announced a new album on wednesday but it won't be out to January... Wouldn't really mind that tbh 'cause at least we would get loads of new stuff in between then and now.... It doesn't really need to be announced the month before and the promo trail is more fun the longer the lead up imo

That goes towards another utopic theory :D. I don't see why would they follow the feedback on Amazing Day, which was clearly sounding like an album song, and it sounded like it needed still a bit of work on production. I personally see it sounding really nice on album.

 

With MX they weren't actually touring, these were some festivals. I don't see any reason why would they do it again this time. I felt like in the end they over thought and over produced some of the MX.

Yeah they definitely had everything planned out. If Coldplay drop the album before the 20th of next month, they will not stay at number 1 for long. So I think the album is probably going to be released early next year, and the single could have a chance of being released in December. I'm just gonna expect the album for Spring next year though. Less pain that way lol. The wait is bad, but the build up of rumor after rumor is even worse. The one thing I don't get though, is why shoot a music video for something so far in advanced, do the iheartradio show with new outfits, and premier a new song at the Global Citizens Festival. They have to be really close to being done, otherwise they wouldn't have done all of that. I guess the music video thing could be justified with schedules not lining up, so that week was the best for everyone.

 

Idk if u remember but fans outside the Bakery said that they met with currators for the album who said a single this month and an album by the end of this year. Im holding on to this for sure because its the most official thing we have

I remember that, but don't want to take it seriously as we have taken a few rumors before seriously and we were extremely disappointed. Just being cautious is all, but I hope I'm wrong. It would really make my day tomorrow if they dropped it out if nowhere.

Well rumors are gonna keep popping regardless, and us anxious fans will latch on to them in blind hope.. I'm not sure when to expect the release, but fuck no, waiting till next year would be death to Coldplay and all their friends! Haha.. Truly, as stated before, the most annoying part of this is the band not sharing a single thing, nothing, not even a post about filming the video, not even a picture of the band in the studio... NADA! I know they are old but beyond sure they know how to use their phones to snap a pic and share something. It's so old school to keep quiet with all these new ways of staying in touch with your fans. Ok didn't think that become a mini rant

We don't even know if there is going to be a single despite all of these rumors. Just wanted to lay that out there. But I too am getting frustrated. For every week since July, we have had some "solid" rumor about a single that could be released just around the corner. Still hasn't happened.

 

At this point, I don't care about getting a song or an album or even a tease. I am sick of all of this "hype" which is the equivalent of us talking in endless circles. I just want some official word on the album's progress and an expected release date for either the single or entire record That would help ease my impatience considerably.

I just think that Chris shouldn't tell the world about the album in 2014. We've got 10483 comments about a thing that we don't even know yet. All of us (a least me) are living in some kind of stress and that's not good. I'm getting really bored about that situation and i feel like when the single will drop i won't feel anything. Drop out would be great, but not that powerful just like it could be to me in july or june. I'm just a fan and no one cares about my feelings in that topic, but that waiting will bring wrong effect.
