I can't help but notice a certain melancholy/heaviness in the main instrumental melody of HFTW. Feels a bit as if the happiness in it is forced. Am I the only one to think like that about HFTW ? Or does someone agree ?

 

I cant say I feel that about the song, though the melancholy can be due to minor chords. They often give you that "melancholic" feeling. But no I feel the song is a celebration of "the angel" :) However parts like "when I was so heavy" certainly convey a sense of hardship, which then though is quickly lifted by the "Put your wings on me" :)

LOL Not a bad idea, but I kinda prefer the background video of Beyonce or Rihanna or even Tovlo. I dont know I think for me they have such distinctive voices that I would not enjoy other female singers singing those songs.

I will be so psyched if hey sing this at the Super Bowl!! It's going to be fantastic

Yes, I have the same feeling too. It makes more sense when Beyonce was announced to play at the Superbowl along with the band. So HFTW should be played at some point imo.

I find it a bit hard to be excited about single releases anymore...now without any b-sides and probably no vinyl release either. There is like nothing special about it except it will make people who have not bought the album hear yet another song from it in the radio, which is good for sales of course. But all we are left with is a video to look forward to....which yeah is cool, but I sure miss the "goodies" that used to come with single releases in the past.

 

Here´s to hoping they will come back.
