Flags - Sunset - Bonus track (Japan exclusive)

Featured Replies

Not the first time Coldplay gave Japan some sort of exclusive. But I dont think it will last forever, more like giving Japan a head start then the rest of the world will get access.

Yeah but those other exclusives were "just" live songs, right? I think Flags sounds good! I hope this will be the sound of LP9...

  • Thank you for the easy-to-follow instruction @Gideon_Mx. Yes I live in Japan so I also see the Flag music video on their official YouTube channel ? So here you go! Almost 40,000 plays on S

  • I can't remember this name being mentioned before.

  • I never thought of it this way... I thought the Tchaikovsky lyric was just Chris trying to sound poetic or reference some work of his, and I thought of the references to flags as referring to national

Someone suggested LP9 maybe sounding like Flags and Orphans. I mean, thats something more radio friendly I think we can all live with!

I mean, I was pretty lukewarm about EL, but I would place flags near the top if it were on the full album. I guess another case of Coldplay's bsides being better than the main tracks!

Hmmm... Gonna have to hope to hear it in better quality, love that it's a full band song, and that there seems to be a lot of J, just not feeling what seems to me like uninspiring 90's drum beat on it.

So many people have asked for them to go old school, that 90's drum beat feels pretty damn nostalgic to me, it's an amazing track.

Haha, I'm not one of those people, but there is some nostalgia attached to it I suppose.

Does anyone know when Flags is out officially on Spotify? I see the entire album is available except for Flags

No news for Flags yet. It probably won't appear on Spotify very soon I think.

That’s a shame, guess we’ll have to just be patient

No. Not available in Spotify US. I guess only in Spotify Japan.

If someone manages to get ahold of a high-quality version, please send me a private message. Thanks!

I'm not normally one to go asking for PMs, but... likewise! It'd be much appreciated!

Pfff struggling witht the VPN. Can anyone maybe audiorip the audio from youtube?

It probably won't ever appear on spotify outside Japan, people. I don't know the exact reason these Japan exclusives exist so don't quote me on this but i believe it's something with CDs being quite expensive in Japan. It would cost less to order one from abroad and pay for the shipping, so to avoid that, artists often add an extra song to the Japanese versions of their album.

Nice song, understand why its slightly different that the ones on the album and didn't make the cut. Still very nice though, what an era!!

For those who don't know how to listen to the track on spotify.

Download a VPN program, set it for Japan.

go to spotify.com, make a free account.

Go to the account page and click edit profile. Set the country to Japan, if it's not already.

Then input the spotify link (in the browser) shared earlier above.

Click play, login with the Japanese account.

Ready to listen.

happy release day everybody!

just got my cd in the mail

now waiting for the vinyl

can anyone pm me Flags! that would be great Thanks!

I get that this will likely never be available on Spotify US like All Your Friends and Ghost Story, but is there a reason I don’t even see it uploaded on YouTube? It’s such a shame I can’t listen to it at the moment without resorting to all these different tricks online.

It's officially on YouTube but unfortunately only available in Japan.

Will send you the link to the file ripped off YouTube.

Very lovely song!! Thanks Yasuko!

It really is a lovely song isn't it?

I hope they release it to the whole world

Hello. I've just managed to download Flags in both MP3 (320kbps) and FLAC. However I have no idea where the files come from originally because I obtained them from a website which seems to spread audio files purchased from legal sources.

I liked it. It's a very catchy song.
