I am quite bored so I made this thread. I was thinking about the bands that have competed with Coldplay in 2008 for greatest band at the time when they released Viva, and was thinking who will it be this time round. Who will be releasing a album the same time as Coldplay and battling it out and maybe surpassing Coldplay???? Is it possible???? Of course we do not have the release date but we can guess around a bit. So start posting the bands you think will.

So just put your iTunes on shuffle, share what comes on, and sing it here! Or if you're listening to a Coldplay song and need to belt out a lyric, but you're not in the most desirable of places for such actions, shout it out here...

So, I have to write a song about cells. And I want to do a live session. I feel pretty confident playing Amsterdam, so, I want to make a song about cells using Amsterdam as the instrumentals. Any takers? :wink3:

Coldplay (or the Anchorman) recently published that Chris wanted a model solar system for inspiration for their next album I remember reading once somewhere that Chris was a fan of Doctor Who. The new theme tune (premiered on 3rd April on BBC 1) seems to be very disliked, see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/haveyoursay/2010/04/did_you_watch_the_new_doctor_w.html So.. it got me thinking.. with their fondness for experimentation with new instruments and their collaboration with Brian Eno who has always produced some great "spaced out" tracks (the Ascent springs to mind).... why don't Coldplay offer the BBC 4-5 versions of the theme for the next series?

I was doing random internet search to see what car Chris Martin has and I came across this... http://media.photobucket.com/image/chris%20martin%20car/andymbuk70/martin.jpg Can anyone explain it? I've never seen it before, looks like he is doing Yoga or something I'm sure its him. EDIT Scroll down to picture of him and Gwyneth and he is wearing the same neckless http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-561951/Shock-Horror-Its-Gwyneth-husband-Chris-Martin.html

Once again, Coldplaying.com has been lucky enough to obtain an exclusive interview with the Oxfam Tour Co-Ordinator on the "Viva La Vida" Tour. Whilst the band have been busy at the European festivals, Soha took some time out of her break to answer some questions for us. Coldplaying.com would like to start by congratulating Oxfam America on reaching 100,000 sign-ups whilst on tour with Coldplay. It's a fantastic achievement to have reached that many people, especially in the limited time you have to talk with them. What does it feel like to have been involved in that achievement? Thank you! Simply put, it was awesomely gratifying and validating. Congratulations ar…

Mississauga, Ont. rock band Soul Nidus got a surprisingly huge boost on Tuesday (April 13) when an unofficial YouTube video posted five months ago for their "Clown On Strike" was placed on Coldplay's official website. Soul Nidus singer/guitarist Ehsan Ashrafi discovered where the video was early Tuesday morning. The number of views increased over the day with more than 1,800 views as of 3 p.m. ET that day. "Our unofficial video for the song 'Clown On Strike' from our upcoming album has been picked up by none other than COLDPLAY," the band wrote on their MySpace page on Tuesday. "The band has always been a major influence of ours, so to say we are thrilled is a mass…

After multiple USPS screw-ups and the long shipping, I finally received Coldplay: The Singles and B-Sides music book! From what I've realized, this book has every B-Side and single from the beginning to X&Y. So many songs to choose from to learn! Maybe Shiver or How You See the World, first?

Place the four members of the band into a sports team (obviously Phil would be the manager!) My guess for a "Coldplay sport" would be footie (Jonny & Will) or cricket (Chris) but I'll start the ball rolling (or should that be bouncing :)) with Rugby: Chris - definitely the scrum half of the team. Not really the height (they're usually short) but his skinny build and live wire movements on the stage and bundle of energy and enthusiam all scream "scrum half" to me (the fast guy that's the centre of attention on a rugby pitch - getting the ball out of the scrums and passing it quickly onto the backs - a pivotal man on the team). Plus, every scrum half I've ever…

Don't get me wrong, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends is a fantastic album, but after listening to all their older albums, this one just seemed so different. I know Chris talked about it being different, but since Brian Eno was the one who produced it, and helped them create the "VLV sound", could it be a good thing he won't have such a big impact on LP5? I sincerely miss the days of AROBTTH and even X&Y, but I also enjoy Viva La Vida and what it had to offer. It was unique and very Coldplay-ish. So, I guess I'm trying to say this: are you happy Coldplay may be going back to the acoustic feel? Or, would you rather want another release like VLV?

I was on a Green Day messageboard when I spotted this: On sale 30th March - the one with Liam Gallagher on the cover. :) I'll definitely be getting this since Chris, Billie Joe and Matt Bellmay are all featured in this issue! :D Sorry if this has already been posted, but I did search. ------- http://img361.imageshack.us/img361/2686/img347.jpg http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/5322/img346.jpg
