They played ASFOS...

Well, there is 9 songs on the record and we already heard 5 of them.. I think its ok if they keep the rest for the release date :)

Loved the broadcast.

Amazing backing vocals from Will during Always In My Head. Sounded much better than on the iTunes festival. Charlie Brown still feels full of energy and Guy's bass during Paradise was legendary. The piano on Magic was so much clear today. Liked it even more, especially because of the extended ending. Still think that Clocks should take a rest from the set-list during this era. Midnight is a grower and live sounds fantastic. New effects were added to Another's Arms, sounding also much better than on the iTunes festival. What was that AMAZING piano intro before Viva la Vida? Fix You was a true gem as always. Oceans simply beautiful and Every Teardrop is still a great closer. Regrettably we were denied access to the encore, though! Please be calm everybody, we should hear A Sky Full of Stars soon enough!

Some questions and answers I found on Reddit. A guy went to the secret "Special Performance".

question

Are there any arena suited songs like Viva La Vida?

reply

A Sky Full of Stars for sure!

Surprisingly enough, I can easily see Midnight evolving into a rave sort of song to blast in the arenas.

Ink also has potential.

question

Was there any other song that sounded like a radio hit? Like Paradise, Magic, Viva La Vida etc

reply

In my opinion, it's gonna be either be A Sky Full of Stars, Ink, Always in My Head, or Another's Arms.

question

Which new song sounds the most like an older song?

reply

The acoustic guitar part to Ink reminded me of Til Kingdom Come.

I feel that A Sky Full of Stars is the spiritual successor to Yellow. It has the same energy and vibe.

Another's Arms vaguely feels similar to Up In Flames, in theme, not in the actual music, all though you can all be the judge of that by viewing the iTunes festival performance.

Aside from that, everyone song is pretty unique!

question

From what you remember, which song seems to carry the deepest lyrics/overtone?

reply

It's very hard for me to recall exact lyrics, I was so in the shock of being 10 feet away from Chris the entire time. I feel Midnight and O stand out since they are the only tracks I recall not being "love-songs" per say. Ink has a very upbeat sound, lovely, yet parachutes-esque sound and lyrics.

I've said this many times before, but A Sky Full of Stars will evoke lots of good emotion of those of you that loved the music and the lyrics of Yellow! The chorus of the song partially goes "Your a sky full of stars" and the song is DEFINITELY written for Gwyneth and the kids, as Chris was looking and pointing towards them during the entire performance.

To be honest, aside from Midnight, I'm not sure you can call these songs a collection "Ghost Stories." They are definitely more somber, low-key, and experimental, as you've seen with Midnight and Magic, but you won't find anything like Twisted Logic, Cemeteries of London, or 42, which is what my initial expectation was.

That being said, it's still a fantastic album and I can't wait to hear the studio versions along with the deluxe album songs!

so broadcast is over, at the beginning of the concert speaker said that the brodcast will continue till 22:00 o'clock. I didn't want to belive, but yeah it was true. but at the end of the stream, he said that they'll come back, i thought that they were gonna stream :( :(

So maybe that's why they were rushing a bit, playing one song after the other, almost with no pause at all?

If so, they did that for us :wacky::heart:

how long must i wait for youtube video of sky full of stars

so they played A SKY FULL OF FUCKING STARS GODDAMMIT I NEED TO KILL SOMEONE

Hopefully some kind soul will upload a listenable ASFOS on Youtube :P My stream cut off before Oceans :( Then went back on during ETIAW but listened to most of it, had a great time on the live chat :D

I agree, lets all take a long big deep breath and remember that it was an amazing concert (even if too short). We could at least listen for free :) Good night every body

how long must i wait for youtube video of sky full of stars

Until tomorrow. I am sure someone is going to upload a video from the concert.

so now we play the waiting game :P

The setlist says Atlas instead of GPASUYF...

so they played A SKY FULL OF FUCKING STARS GODDAMMIT I NEED TO KILL SOMEONE

:uhoh: I do recommend to punch your pillow but murder might not be the answer

14 songs only. Cannot be ok with that, srsly. I know that they've heard ASFOS for the first time ever but for a concert tour, a 60-minutes setlist is unacceptable. Very disappointed.

I really wish they change this setlist. It's not Ghost Stories full themed, it could be much better.
